Job Description


  • Education/Training (both required and desired):
    • High School diploma required
    • Associates Degree in management or technical/scientific discipline desired
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of professional experience in the required task area
      • 2 years combined experience working with senior technicians while supporting a sustainment environment such as military depot or equivalent
  • Security:
    • Must be a ====
    • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Expertise and Functions

  • Experience in identifying, analyzing, and solving obsolescence issues across multiple platforms before they impact sustainment and recommend solutions to the Air Force to mitigate obsolescence issues impact on systems, LRUs, and SRUs
  • Experience accessing, utilizing, interpreting and preparing recommend changes to government owned technical data (including AFTO Form 22/252 or commercial equivalent)
  • Experience accessing, interpreting, and recommending changes to engineering drawings utilizing data repositories such as Joint Engineering Data Management Information Control System (JEDMICS) or commercial equivalent
  • Knowledge in semiconductors and electronics to identify sources of supply and Form/Fit/Function and Interface (F3I) replacement recommendations
  • Knowledge of logistics and repair concepts for avionic systems
  • Experience in the use of configuration and logistics management computer systems, such as D043: D035; JEDMICS; Haystack; ILS; LIMS-EV; DoD EMALL; ETIMS and the utilization of a DMSMS predictive tool
  • Perform analyses & resolution of Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)
  • Identify and solve DMSMS issues to reduce Mission Capability(MICAP) incidents, back orders, depot repair awaiting parts (AWPs) and increase systems availability for Air Force managed Weapon systems
  • Perform technical and logistical analysis and provide detailed technical data to support the replacement of components for items where the manufacturer has discontinued production, including: Reclamation, aftermarket, F3I substitutions, emulation, and complete redesigns
  • Update analysis and resolution information into the Air Force DMSMS predictive tool
  • Other duties as assigned
