This is an exciting opportunity in the Information Technology Infrastructure service area. The Enterprise Information Technology Engineer will be a lead engineer in the Infrastructure and Customer Support team. The ideal candidate must be able to provide support for IT Infrastructure and services, including Active Directory, Servers and desktop virtualization and mobile client devices. As an Enterprise Information Technology Engineer, you will need to have strong technical leadership skills, be able to work well with both technical and non-technical staff, and have excellent communication skills. In this position, you will need to be able to own, manage, and complete projects from beginning to end in a timely fashion and must be able to work in a dynamic environment with a mixture of operational tasks and project assignments.

Job Expertise

  • Demonstrates knowledge of and experience with, implementing, supporting and troubleshooting at least two of the following technologies in an enterprise infrastructure:
    • Windows Server 2008/2012 R2
    • Active Directory
    • Group Policies
    • Virtual Server Management (VMware or Hyper-V)
    • VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)
    • MDM (Mobile Device Management
  • Experience managing Windows infrastructure service such as DHCP, DNS, subnets, gateways, etc.
  • Experience implementing and managing Microsoft Active Directory & Windows 2012/2008 servers.
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting client devices including desktops, laptops, and tablets.
  • Experience installing and supporting client devices' operating systems and standard applications.
  • Experience managing mobile devices using MDM.
  • Experience managing Windows security patches (WSUS) and Antivirus servers (TrendMicro).
  • Powershell scripting and automation is desired.
  • Experience in reviewing and analyzing system logs, identifying system. issues, applying remediation, and performing system preventative maintenance.
  • Experience creating and updating technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to document procedures, configuration details, and network topology design.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • EITE I: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, Business and Public Administration, or a closely related field.
  • EITE II: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, Business and Public Administration, or a closely related field.

 

Experience:

  • EITE I: three (3) years of increasingly progressive experience equivalent to performing technical work of complex difficulty to provide desktop, data security, application and system administration, and server or network administration or software applications to support end users, electronic business systems/solutions, and software applications for high availability and uptime.
  • EITE II: four (4) years of increasingly progressive experience equivalent to performing technical work of complex difficulty to provide desktop, data security, applications and system administration, and server or network administration or software applications to support end users, electronic business systems/solutions, and software applications for high availability and uptime.

 

Acceptable Substitutions: Two (2) years of related experience may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the education requirement

 

License or Certificates:

  • EITE I: Possession of an industry certification that demonstrates expertise in information technology field, such as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certificate for Windows Server Enterprise, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Network Associate (CCNA) certification, Brocade Professional IP Administrator (BPIPA) certification, OR an equivalent professional, industry recognized certification acceptable to the City.
  • EITE II: Possession and maintenance of a current (non-expired) industry certification that demonstrates expertise in the relevant information technology field, such as a Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certificate for Windows Server Enterprise, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Network Associate (CCNA) certification, Brocade Professional IP Administrator (BPIPA) certification, OR an equivalent professional, industry recognized certification acceptable to the City.

Salary Information                                                                                                                                                                     

  • Enterprise Information Technology Engineer I - $91,790.40 - 111,633.60
  • Enterprise Information Technology Engineer II - $97,240.00 - 118,456.00

 

The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate’s qualifications and experience.  In addition to the starting salary, employees in the EITE I and EITE II classifications shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay.
