JOB DESCRIPTION: Coordinates the activities related to the implementation and operation of computer systems (hardware, software and networks).  Accomplishes this while improving or maintaining the service level for the client.  Provides analysis, specifications and appropriate communications at all levels while accomplishing these tasks.  In addition to the primary areas of responsibility, may have responsibilities in other areas related to software and system development and maintenance.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business, Health Care or related field, or equivalent technical training with relevant experience
  • Six or more years of experience working with a computerized information system which may include design, programming, hardware, system software, computer operations and clinical or business practices
  • Epic certification with Cadence, Beaker CP or Beaker AP and Orders-Front End
  • Epic build or migration experience; 6 years minimum
  • Previous health care experience preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of work plan development and project reporting standards
  • Demonstrated ability for strong analytical and logical thinking, creativity, self-reliance, communication skills and ability to effectively integrate varied components of a system
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks, set appropriate priorities and consistently complete complex tasks in a rigorous goal-oriented manner
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively handle customer contacts and problem resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to independently recognize process improvement opportunities through the use of automated systems
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills. May developed and does presentations
  • Demonstrated ability to translate user requirements into system specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate automated systems into department workflow
  • On-call rotation required
  • Ability to travel up to 50 percent of job to all Illinois lab sites, Wisconsin lab and meeting sites as required
  • Overnight travel as required
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis as required
