QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of bachelor s degree required, preferably with major in Accounting, or Finance CPA, Master s degree, or other financial certifications preferred A minimum of 3 years of finance, accounting or related business experience is preferred. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills required. Experience in general ledger accounting Public accounting experience a plus Experience preparing and posting journal entries required Balance sheet reconciliation experience required SAP or similar ERP experience required Experience or familiarity with derivatives and hedge accounting a plus Highly motivated with strong analytical skills Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously Can-Do attitude and ability to communicate and partner with associates at all levels of the organization Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills Intellectual curiosity
The Financial Accountant supports a number of Corporate Accounting functions within the Company, including Financial Reporting, intercompany activity, and Treasury transactions. The role works as part of an 8 person team within Corporate Accounting, and will report to the Manager of Corporate Accounting and Treasury. This is a hands-on role focused on process improvement and execution of: Complex corporate entries; accounting transactions that require professional judgment; and accounting for treasury activities such as cash, debt, and derivatives. This role is heavily involved in the monthly close process, and provides many critical entries and time-sensitive analysis. The Financial Accountant s activities include: Documentation of existing processes such as close entries and corporate submissions, creating detailed work instructions for cross training Preparation and posting of journal entries into SAP o Corporate entries such as Fringe Benefits, Vacation Accrual, Severance, Retention, Environmental reserves, Stock based compensation, Bonuses, Workers Compensation o Treasury related activity, including debt and derivatives, and balance sheet exposure o Intercompany activity, including internal debt and transfer pricing Booking of Legal department expenses and accruals Global FX analysis and revaluation Analysis of P&L and balance sheet activity in SAP, including foreign exchange activity Reporting Package review for various non-US countries Account reconciliations for multiple US general ledger accounts; including investigating underlying balances and activity Actively participate in efficiency improvement initiatives Supporting accounting staff in various countries
