Graphics Engineer - Austin, TX

Overview: The responsibilities of this position include daily oversight of projects within the global graphics/video engineering team. This role exists within the Dell Technologies Client Engineering organization and is responsible for the technical selection, engineering development, and sustaining of graphics/video solutions including add-in cards and onboard video.

Role Responsibilities

  • Establishes clear objectives and deliverables for each graphics program that supports the various Lines Of Business (LOBs) needs
  • Provide oversight and guidance to junior staff engineers and lab technicians working to deliver graphics solutions across Dell systems.
  • Establishes working relationships and influences at the Manager, Director, and Vice President layers of leadership.
  • Manage resources at external suppliers including AMD, nVidia, Intel, and platform ODM partners to facilitate debug and resolution of issues and delivery of graphics solutions
  • Responsible for ensuring day-to-day engineering tasks and efforts are prioritized along with reporting to management on program status and needed escalations.
  • Works with multiple internal teams including product quality, platform engineering, product marketing, program management, and regulatory engineering to resolve issues and provide updates.
  • Sought out as subject matter expert in graphics controllers, graphics drivers & firmware, OS application interaction, and customer usage models and expectations for graphics programs



· Excellentleadership and influencing skills driving cross functional alignment. Ability to frame situations and make/drivedecisions

· StrongCross-functional team management, strong interpersonal skills and adaptivecommunication style. Experience withleading daily operations of a technical/engineering team

· Strong technicaldepth & capability with PCI-Express peripherals and associated firmware anddrivers.

· Proactiveattitude to issue resolution and engagement with peer and global teams toquickly resolve issues.

· Aggressive managementof suppliers and technology partners to drive for quick resolution to customerissues. Understanding of and familiarity with the ODM development modeland contract manufacturing.

· Engineering/ComputerScience degree, preference for depth of knowledge in computer engineering.

· 10+ yearsindustry experience
