Job Description:

Applicant must possess subject matter expertise (3 years’ experience) with respect to Guidewire ClaimCenter. Applicant will play a key role in all production support related activities for Guidewire ClaimCenter. Applicant must have experience working in a team setting and must possess effective interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal). Key areas of responsibility include but are not limited to the following: supporting application/system outages; participating in root cause analysis, monitoring application/system performance, overseeing incident tickets opened by application users, supporting system/application upgrades, supporting release implementations, supporting conversion activities, etc.

 Essential Job Functions:

  • Troubleshoot Guidewire application code, configurations and infrastructure related issues.
  • Respond to Production issues.
  • Participate in outage/incident management calls.
  • Work with stakeholders from other support groups, development teams, infrastructure teams, and business contacts.
  • Analyze and make recommendations for the need for system backup, restart/recovery, and balancing & controls.
  • Analyze and understand the requirements and approaches to data conversion.
  • Analyze programs to ensure they efficiently use resources; and recommend appropriate changes as necessary.
  • Conduct system studies, analyze existing automated and manual processes to improve efficiency; research and develop techniques for automation.
  • Design, develop and maintain documentation for runbooks and standard operating procedures.
  • Support implementation activities
  • Participate in annual disaster recovery exercise.


Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of web based java development experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with ClaimCenter Configuration, and relevant certifications.
  • Minimum Guidewire version is 8.x and above.
  • Experience with designing, developing, modifying, testing, debugging, and maintaining GOSU language application code within Guidewire ClaimCenter.
  • Experience with configuring screen layouts.
  • Experience writing business rules and other business logic.
  • Experience configuring operational and administration related parameters such as roles and permissions, user attributes regions, activity patterns etc.
  • Experience developing Plugin and Custom batch components in ClaimCenter.
  • Experience with business rules and other business logic.
  • Experience with Guidewire messaging XML (GX Model).
  • Good knowledge with code merges and environment management tasks.
  • Experience performing Guidewire software upgrades.
  • Experience working within Application Support environment is a plus.

Education Requirement: Bachelors in Computer Science or a related discipline
