Job Description

Our client, one of the largest alternative asset managers in the world (AUM in the billions) with many projects and upcoming initiatives is looking to hire a full-time Help Desk Engineer Level 2 in Midtown Manhattan! There is a large international presence with offices located all around the globe.

The desktop support role provides support services for the firm and will be working on a team to support all functional business areas. These areas include Voice, Data, Help Desk, Messaging, and Facilities teams to provide fast and seamless service to the end users with respect to their desktop environment.

Ideally you are someone with 5+ years of relevant experience coming out of financial services. You have experience with Windows 10, Active Directory, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands on support to business critical end-users
  • Enforce desktop standards and security
  • Respond to incidents and requests within a ticketing system in a timely manner, providing resolution within a complex, fast-paced business environment
  • Install and configure business applications
  • Assist with setting up Video Conferencing in conference rooms leveraging Skype for Business and other various technologies
  • Deploy and troubleshoot end user computing devices including laptops, desktops, printers, and wireless devices
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot supported operating systems, Microsoft Office, Internet Browsers, Cisco Jabber and related business applications
  • Coordinate user moves with facilities
  • Configure and support remote users including VPN client and connectivity
  • Provide customer training on systems and technology to users and, as needed, prepare and distribute instructional documentation to users
  • Interact with business end-users, Service Desk, engineering, IT Information Security, technology stack management, vendors/technology providers

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Position requires 5+ years of experience in the field of Desktop Support
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with Active Directory, Anti-virus software, Windows OS, MS Office, and VDI
  • Knowledge of EZE Castle/Bloomberg (or other market data applications), Enterprise Vault, VMware
  • Exceptional knowledge of all Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suites, including Outlook/Exchange
  • Strong knowledge of Help Desk ticketing software (i.e. ServiceNow)
  • Ability to troubleshoot remote technologies (i.e. Cisco VPN, Remote Desktop, wireless solutions)
  • Strong knowledge providing hardware break fix for PC, laptops, mobile devices, and printer hardware
  • Basic understanding of network connectivity and infrastructure
  • Can effectively choose from among many different procedures or approaches in order to implement a solution
  • Poses a whatever it takes attitude to ensure the customers issues are resolved

What differentiates you from the pack:

  • Experience with Windows 10, Active Directory, VDI takes precedence!
