NETE is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, organized, and detail oriented Help Desk Specialist to join our great corporate team. NETE, a minority owned small business primarily focused on federal government contracting and commercial sector.
Maintains a solutions oriented approach and forecasts the needs of the company from an IT perspective. Capable of interpreting technical information and present/speak the information to different audiences (business owner, etc.), conveying the message in a way the audience can understand.
Maintains a professional attitude and appearance providing excellent customer service at all times, to include maintaining a good work ethic and assisting other analysts when needed.
Oversees policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs for corporate staff, client site locations and a diverse team of employees. Maintain and enhance ISO and CMMI certification requirements.
Supports continuous improvement in the process and quality of the operations.
Builds effective working relationships with team members and Mentor Junior Staff.
Performs technical requirements analysis, costs analysis, and schedule analysis.
Coordinates and execute based on priorities set by corporate directors for a variety of projects. Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines as needed.
Provides hands on support for configuration, installation, re-imaging and support of desktop computers, laptop computers, handheld devices, printers, monitors, portable data storage devices, and other general peripherals.
Contributes knowledge and updated information pertaining to Help Desk SOPs and Training manuals for Tier I support.
Provides insight on network changes and provide documentation on best practices.
Performs advanced diagnostics, analysis, repairs, or replacement hardware and software for PC's, laptops, and printers. Routinely review ticket queue and address problems accordingly.
Configures IT devices for secure operation and access computer networks, including installation of security software, scientific software, software updates, and other configurations as required.
Relocates IT equipment including desktop computers, printers, monitors, portable data storage devices, and other general peripherals. Tracks and updates the movement of all IT assets.
Provides software support for users of NCI-provided applications (as identified by the task), including basic to advanced software operations and general use of computers and peripherals.
Provides technical support to the customer for meeting management by responding to meeting requests and providing audio/visual support during meetings and conferences including audio recording, broadcasting, robotic camera operation, bridge lines, projectors, etc.
Provides virtual assistance sessions such as Windows Remote Assistance and Apple Remote Desktop.
Location: McLean, VA and Rockville, MD - the candidate will be required to work at both locations.
At least 3-5 years of experience installing, configuring, integrating, and administrating active directories and exchange servers in multiple platforms (Linux, Windows, Mac).
At least 2 years of experience as system administrator, technical analyst or similar IT role.
Experience using Atlassian products, such as JIRA, JIRA Agile, JIRA Help Desk, and Confluence).
Must have great customer service.
Interfacing with customers experience required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be self-motivated and adaptable to learning and understanding new technologies
Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet aggressive deadlines
Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making capabilities
Must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Must be flexible to change and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor’s Degree in related technical discipline with 3-5 years of experience.
