Job Description

Manhattan Middle School

The Windward School is currently seeking an Helpdesk Technician for the Manhattan Middle School to assist our faculty and staff with technical difficulties and questions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the Windward Community for all software, hardware and network issues.
  • Assist help desk operations by responding to tickets in a timely manner, triaging issues, then escalating when appropriate.
  • Maintain software and hardware inventories.
  • Administer Active Directory, Office 365, and SharePoint Online environments.
  • Assist in the creation and management of Office 365 groups and distribution lists
  • Grant software program rights to new hires and manage associated permissions
  • Document resolutions to common support requests into an end-user facing guide.
  • Provide end-user training on our core systems and applications.
  • Maintain internal IT documentation on application configuration and support.
  • Configure new computer hardware and software (both Windows & Mac based).
  • Support, administration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, and some light server work
  • Troubleshoot desktop, server, hardware, and software issues
  • Install and configure hardware and software components
  • Repair or replace damaged hardware
  • Upgrade systems to enable compatible software
  • AV duties and responsibilities as needed for The Windward School and/or The Windward Institute

Specific Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 3-5 years experience in an IT, help desk related role
  • Proficient in both Windows and Mac operating systems
Detailed oriented and experience working in a fast paced environment.
