Job Description

Job Summary

This position requires knowledge of Windows computers, software (word, powerpoint, excel, outlook), voip phones, and basic networking. The helpdesk specialist is responsible for the installation and maintenance of PC hardware and software and to provide first level support to all employees in the resolution of technical problems and issues.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with physical replacement of desktop computers and reconfiguration of printers
  • Respond and resolve helpdesk tickets created by users
  • Answers helpdesk phone
  • Analyzes problems to provide speedy and accurate solutions
  • Coordinate internally or with third parties when higher level support is needed
  • Assists in maintaining and creating ongoing helpdesk documentation
  • Interacts with IT Manager, Systems Administrator, and end users.

 

Requirements

 

  • Two year technical degree or higher with an emphasis in IT or equivalent work experience
  • One to two years technical assistance experience preferred
  • Microsoft Operating System proficiency
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Basic network knowledge (TCP/IP)
  • Basic telecommunications proficiency
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Minimum travel required to NJ office

Overtime and weekends as needed
