Captures business requirements for data and information needs across functional areas within the enterprise.  These activities include but not limited to conducting customer interviews; business requirements definition and documentation; define business processes; and articulate requirements to business users and technical solution teams.

Responsibilities

IM Business Analyst

  • Participates in requirements gathering sessions with end data users to define the functionality, usability, and support requirements needed to deploy an analytic solution.
  • Serves as the liaison between the technical and business users of the system by ensuring that the technical solutions being developed will fulfil the needs of the business.
  • Develops persona driven use cases and creates test cases / test plans to ensure the analytic solution specifications are sufficiently met.
  • Collaborates with all business stakeholders serving as liaison between technical team and the business owner to provide data source insights and recommendations for new process workflows, interfaces, or reporting tools that align with business user needs.
  • Works collaboratively with technical solution team members to analyze and develop conceptual design and integration of data source components including accurate mapping documentation of systems/data sources to approved requirements.
  • Supports project team during design, development, and QA testing by clarifying requirements questions and assisting customers/end users with UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with key stakeholders.  Close collaboration is required with key customers including clinical operations, clinical quality, and provider engagement.
  • Supports project team during design, development, and QA testing by clarifying requirements questions and assisting customers/end users with UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
  • Supports Agile delivery practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Sr. IM Business Analyst

  • Leads requirements gathering sessions with end data users to define the functionality, usability, and support requirements needed to deploy an analytic solution.
  • Analyze business objectives between the technical and business users of the system by ensuring that the technical solutions being developed will fulfil the needs of the business.
  • Oversees use and test case scenarios / implements plans to ensure the analytic solution specifications are sufficiently met.
  • Collaborate and consult with all business stakeholders serving as liaison between technical team and the business owner to provide data source insights and recommendations for new process workflows, interfaces, or reporting tools that align with business user needs.
  • Works collaboratively with technical solution team members to analyze and develop conceptual design and integration of data source components including accurate mapping documentation of systems/data sources to approved requirements.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences, and business concepts to technical audiences.
  • Create and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.  Close collaboration is required with key customers including clinical operations, clinical quality, and provider engagement.
  • Motivate project team during design, development, and QA testing by clarifying requirements questions and assisting customers/end users with UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
  • Create agile delivery practices. Collaborate and support project team during design, development, and QA testing by clarifying requirements questions and assisting customers/end users with UAT (User Acceptance Testing).

Lead IM Business Analyst

  • Works methodically with leadership to define annual project objectives and priorities.
  • Monitors requirements gathering sessions with business partners to further understand and define functionality, usability, and support tool requirements. Conceptualizes, develops, and executes new deliverables and enhancements to existing deliverables.
  • Observe and consult BI technical solutions and BI QA management teams apply program development best practices and data auditing concepts to match business requirements.
  • Manages multiple projects and scope with competing deadlines.  Collaborates with BI teams and department leadership to prioritize deliverables. 
  • Works with junior and senior IM Business Analysts to understand and construct gap analysis, workflow processes to remodel/design new processes or improve on existing ones. Coach and mentor team members including knowledge transfer and innovative staff development.
  • Monitor project deliverables and create reporting for leadership teams.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on health care reporting, health care programs, and services available in the company and health insurance industry.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

IM Business Analyst

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or related field
  • 2 years healthcare data analytics experience, which includes writing business requirements documents.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office and database reporting skills
  • Ability to digest and document business workflow processes and data flow processes
  • Good critical thinking and analytics skills 

Sr. IM Business Analyst

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Informatics or Healthcare Administration or related degree.
  • 4 - 6 years healthcare data analytics experience
  • Healthcare background preferred

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding of variety of systems (e.g., MS Office, Tableau, SAS, SQL Server and/or other platforms and technologies)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software and other Data tools
  • Ability to digest and document business workflow processes and data flow processes
  • Strong writing business requirements documents

Lead IM Business Analyst

Education and Experience

  • BS in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, MIS, Computer Science, or related area. MS is preferred.
  • 7 years of experience conducting business requirements and delivering analytic results to business partners or internal leadership teams.
  • Healthcare background preferred.

Professional Certification(s):

  • Business Analyst Certificate preferred.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding and working with a variety of systems (e.g., MS Office, Tableau, SAS, SQL Server and/or other platforms and technologies).  Proficient with Microsoft Office software and other data analytic tools.
  • Strong writing business requirement document skills with the ability to digest and document business workflow and data flow processes.
  • Working with minimal direction, initiate projects, and demonstrate significant flexibility to coordinate complex activities that are often subject to rapid or extensive changes or revisions.
  • Ability to lead conceptualization, development and execution of new deliverables and enhancements to existing deliverables.
