TITLE: IT Project Manager/Business Analyst
Direct Hire Position
No Corp to Corp

Our downtown client who is the nation’s first financial services company providing innovative lending and liquidity products is looking for a Sr IT Project Manager to joining their team. Essential Functions

The successful candidate will work directly with the Business and IT team to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and will request resources as needed to fulfill project needs.

Qualifications

  • BA or BS or equivalent experience is required; MA or MS is a plus
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing software or web development projects using Agile methodologies including 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager managing large, complex projects in a high-tech development environment with multi-function teams. PMP preferred
  • Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with application development projects. PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to write business requirements and user stories
  • Experience overseeing multi-function project teams with 5 - 10 team members including Vendors, Developers, Business Analysts, and QA Personnel
  • Balanced business/technical background:
    • Sufficient level of technical background to provide leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues
    • Ability to provide leadership to business analysts and collaborate with customers and develop strategies and solutions of high business value

Specific Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget and of high quality
  • Develop a detailed project plan including project schedule, issues/risk log, and regular reporting to monitor and track progress
  • Follow Release and Change Management SDLC processes
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, and uncovering areas for improvement
  • Develop a positive and professional business relationship with internal as well as external users
  • Manage the relationship with the Business and all stakeholders in terms of the project plan
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Meet with clients to clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with Business as well as other staff members
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Develop presentations, diagrams and process maps to document needs
  • Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements
  • Update implement, and maintain procedures
  • Serve as a liaison between Business and IT for projects
  • Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects
