Mission

The IT Business Analyst position will work with business users to collect and document requirements and use the requirements to design, configure and test projects related to ERP business applications to ensure an optimal solution. Throughout the process, the IT Business Analyst will troubleshoot issues, meet with business users regularly to verify solutions, and train users on results. The Horizons' IT BA will also support all departments in data gathering, analyses and reaching optimal business decisions. This person will also lead the operations support of all our ERP, CRM, Hardware and other IT assets.

Objectives

Run the Business
  • Perform business analyst work, run database queries, and support the decision-making processes of the business unit
  • Perform system upgrades and/or maintenance such as price tables updates, SKU updates, vendor database updates, SKU versions updates, etc.
  • Participate in the design of any integration related to assigned functional modules such as MRP, Inventory tracking, Manufacturing tracking, etc.
  • Create and run reports using report writer and report painter (or any other BI software) to support the Departments in running their areas and making decisions
  • Lead the maintenance of our ERP, CRM, shop-floor data gathering, IT hardware and all our software to ensure extremely high reliability and uptime
  • Work with headquarters to implement all IT upgrades, projects, etc.
  • Act as liaison between business and IT to support business needs via technical solutions.
  • Perform design, configuration and testing of assigned core ERP modules


Improve the Business
  • Drive the implementation of all the ERP functional modules not yet in-place such as Demand Planning and Sales Order, MRP, Inventory, Procurement, Shop Floor Management, Standard Cost, BOM's, Routing
  • Lead the development of Manufacturing Work Tickets (Routings) so that it is the "Recipe" used by the shop-floor to construct the products
  • Lead and develop the shop-floor data gathering and production controls system
  • Develop the ERP and CRM systems so that the entire Sales process, from Order entry to Customer satisfaction/experience, is working and useful for the Sales and Customer Service departments
  • Develop the system to enable the business to deliver an easy, user friendly and comprehensive Customer order entry system which may include CRM, ERP and Engineering systems such as Solidworks/Designworks.
  • Perform unit and integration testing for configuration and end to end business processes.

  • Utilizes quality/process tools and methodology in daily individual work as well as the teams'
  • Defines and documents individual processes within sphere of control
  • Ensures that others are trained as back-ups on (processes) within the area/department
  • Improves processes within sphere of control
  • Identifies waste and rework and enacts plan to improve/solve
  • Checks satisfaction of internal customers through use of quality tools and Customer/Supplier metrics


Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related business field required.
  • Minimum 4 years of Business Analysis experience.
    • Experience preferred in order management, sales operations, pricing, and accounts receivable within a manufacturing organization
    • Experience preferred in IT business analyst position supporting business process upgrades, business decisions support and database queries/reporting within a manufacturing organization

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong Business Process experience required.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with requirement specifications to define scope and system boundaries, recommend alternative methods to achieve complex system requirements and estimate resource implications of requirements at a high level
  • Business knowledge and process design skills
  • Ability to translate business requirements into process and technical specifications
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide clear recommendations
