Field Services Technician II

*Majority REMOTE work while COVID orders are in place, but will be onsite after*

Position Summary:

3 - 6 Month Contract (possibility to convert to direct-hire employee)

IT Field Service Technician I’s are primarily responsible for providing on-going desktop, hardware and software support in a corporate healthcare environment. Position may require participation in IT on-call rotation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ordering, configuring, deploying and supporting mobile devices, specifically iPhones.
  • Technicians image and deploy corporate PC and MAC workstations and laptops.
  • Work tickets assigned via our Manage Engine Help Desk system and respond to calls coming in on the Help Desk Phone queue for local and remote users across multiple sites.
  • Manage and maintain mobile devices using our XenMobile MDM system.
  • Set up and assign phone numbers and phone queues in our Avaya PBX system.
  • Ability to travel to multiple local sites
  • Properly document all helpdesk issues and resolutions in the Manage Engine Help Desk system.
  • Create and maintain documentation related to troubleshooting, system configurations, internal IT procedures, and end user procedures.
  • Assists as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as required.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience working in a fast-paced data center with 200+ users.
  • Advanced knowledge of PC / MAC hardware and operating systems, ability to troubleshoot and resolve PC related hardware and software issues.
  • Application deployment, understanding of MSIs and MSPs and basic command-line silent installers.
  • Advanced knowledge of system imaging and tools.
    1. BIOS changes
    2. PXE Booting
  • Enterprise PC management:
    1. Inventory management tools
    2. Bitlocker or similar for data management.
    3. AV/Security suites.
  • Understanding of domain concepts (groups, OUs, GPO, home drives, mapped drive).
  • Intermediate to expert understanding of core windows concepts (32/64).
  • Ability to write small scripts in language of choice (batch, powershell preferred).
  • Understanding of fundamental enterprise networking concepts, including subnetting, vLANs and NAT.
  • Advanced understanding of Windows internals (registry, profiles, logs, services, etc.)
  • Moderate to advanced knowledge of supporting and configuring iPhone devices.
  • Strong experience using and supporting Apple computers in an enterprise environment.

Physical Demands

  1. Employee may be required to lift heavy objects such as servers, PCs, and other IT equipment.
  2. Crouching and bending may be required when installing or working with various equipment or cabling.
  3. Majority of work is performed in a desk/cubicle environment, but at times, may have exposure to high noise levels and cool temperatures in the data center, fumes and bio-hazardous material in the lab environment.
