DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Under general direction of the Infrastructure Manager this position is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive Town-wide security and access control program. Performs duties in a manner consistent with the stated values of the Town.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (The following examples are illustrative only and are not intended to be all-inclusive.)
Responsible for managing the Town-wide access control system, security cameras and panic buttons in protection of Town staff, facilities and data.
Supports all aspects of the Town’s security camera program, to include, but not limited to: camera maintenance, technical support, video management systems, configurations, view sheds, installations, video exports, retention schedule and storage requirements.
Develops analysis and cost estimates for the deployment, alteration, repair and maintenance of new and existing security technology infrastructure and equipment.
Administrator of video management systems, including providing and auditing access, configurations, dashboards and permission roles based on business needs.
Provides the recommendation, installation and implementation of all security cameras, access control and panic buttons for new and existing Town facilities.
Perform regularly-scheduled camera reviews for environmental changes, firmware upgrades, repair/testing of connectivity.
Perform regularly-scheduled panic button reviews for battery replacements, 911 connectivity, end user training.
Responsible for maintaining all Police Department camera programs, including in-car cameras, body cameras and the upload of video to the network.
Responsible for creating and managing all special event requests for camera coverage.
Manage camera integration requests within technology applications.
Provides support for onboarding Town employees.
Must be able to perform duties in all types of weather conditions and be able to sit, stand, reach, lift, climb ladders, perform work from a ladder, work on security cameras overhead.
Provides after hours coverage as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must possess strong diagnostic capabilities.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with rapidly changing work priorities.
Must be able to handle multiple projects and assignments concurrently.
Ability to run, terminate and troubleshoot new and existing cable.
Must have knowledge of low voltage wiring, relays, wiring diagrams, wire termination, 12VDC and 24VDC.
Strong understanding of phases of construction.
Must have experience with access control systems and electronic locks.
Ability to use a laptop computer to program IP address into cameras.
Must have a strong understanding of fundamental networking.
Ability to articulate technology solutions to coworkers.
Generally a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field; supplemented by three years’ experience with access control systems and video management systems.
Previous experience with security cameras is preferred.
Keyscan Access Control knowledge is beneficial but not required.
Must successfully pass criminal background investigation and fingerprinting prior to employment.
