The Ninth District IT Project Management Office (PMO) at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis has an opportunity to use professional project management, program management and communications skills. The IT PMO delivers solutions to meet business needs for internal stakeholders and National IT initiatives; and providing technical support for Ninth District supported application solutions across the Federal Reserve System.
The IT PMO is seeking a candidate to manage projects as follows:
Leading, coordinating and monitoring all project management activities for a variety of moderate to large, complex technology projects related to new technology development, infrastructure deployments, on-going system enhancements and related products, services, and solutions.
Consulting with all levels of management, staff and customers on Ninth District IT services, products and solutions for business problem-solving and decision-making. Preparing and delivering professionally written communications (both written and verbal) including presentations.
Performing program management and project management activities including initiation, planning, execution, implementation and closure, consistent with Federal Reserve Bank standards, methodologies and guidelines.
Coordinating and monitoring all stages of Ninth District IT project management activities, including budgeting, technology assessments, cost/benefit analyses, risk assessments, business process redesign, application testing, end user training, communications, project implementations and post-implementation support. Ensures delivery of necessary artifacts throughout project
Developing project agreements or charters based on requirements, risk and complexity of potential solutions, and creates the project plan accordingly. Ensures all of the projects technological requirements and objectives are correctly gathered, understood and properly translated for implementation.
Identifying the projects key success indicators and managing the work within scope, quality, time and cost constraints.
Managing to successful outcomes through identifying and addressing issues and risks.
Directing cross-functional project teams, including assigning individual responsibilities, tasks and technical functions.
Serving as the key liaison between the project team, vendors and Bank management along with playing a primary role in workgroups.
Preparing and delivering written and oral communications, including presentations.
Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of higher education and/or experience. Bachelors degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field, preferred.
Minimum 8 years of direct work-related experience in automated systems, systems development, and/or an information technology environment, or equivalent combination of related higher education and experience. Experience must include large scale IT projects. (10 years of related experience required for level IV.)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience managing moderate to large customer implementations.
Experience with managing Agile projects and/or Scrum Master certification.
Experience with Clarity and/or similar Project, Portfolio Management tools.
Experience working with virtual teams. Familiarity with multiple platforms and technologies such as: SharePoint,.Net, Sitecore, Clarity, JIRA and Microsoft Office products.
