Job Description


The primary purpose of this role is to guide and influence the development and application of a formal GQS (Global Quality Services) Framework in order to provide end-to-end quality assurance throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for large-scale, complex IT initiatives spanning all SQE domains. This includes responsibility for leading the development of software quality engineering (SQE) test strategies for large-scale, complex IT initiatives spanning all SQE domains and developing comprehensive project plans for SQE initiatives to drive the development of global SQE Centers of Excellence (COE). The SQE Consultant will define best-in-class Quality Management Office (QMO) process and policy requirements in order to establish and ensure adherence to QMO practices, standards, and guidelines.


Responsibilities:

- Guides and influences the development and application of a formal GQS (Global Quality Services) Framework by applying a comprehensive understanding of company software testing methodologies, quality standards, and internal and external controls

- Promotes continuous improvement and makes recommendations to management and other IT stakeholders for framework enhancements and refinements to SQE metrics

- Serves as a primary point of contact and representing GQS on issues related to SQE controls and processes

- Leads the development of software quality engineering (SQE) test strategies for large-scale, complex IT initiatives spanning all SQE domains by analyzing business and technology requirements to ensure testability and traceability

- Partners with cross-functional IT and business stakeholders to review and gain approval on the overall testing approach

- Provides end-to-end quality assurance throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for large-scale, complex IT initiatives spanning all SQE domains by ensuring all testware complies with the GQS framework and company testing methodology

- Ensures software quality metrics are tracked across testing phases (e.g., SIT, Performance, UAT, Automation, Production Validation)

- Develops comprehensive project plans for software quality assurance (SQE) initiatives to drive the development of global SQE Centers of Excellence (COE) by researching, identifying, and prioritizing quality initiatives for delivery

- Establishes and ensures adherence to Quality Management Office (QMO) practices, standards, and guidelines by defining best-in-class QMO process and policy requirements

- Drives the ongoing communication of industry standards and best practices to IT teams, governance committees, and the larger quality management community


Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, CIS, or related field

- 8+ years of experience in SQE, software/system testing, or related field

- 2+ years of SQE experience working across multiple IT domains and business units in a corporate setting or SQE consulting experience

- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports


Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience as an SDET, test automation engineer or developer

- Experience on an agile (SCRUM) team

- 7+ years of experience working with integration technologies (e.g.,webmethods, datapower, MQ)

- Institution of Electrical Engineering (IEEE), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), or Six Sigma certification

- Quality Assurance Institute (QAI) or American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification

- 4+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization with third party IT vendors

- 4+ years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of software development life cycle(s) (SDLC)

- 4+ years of experience writing technical documentation in a software testing or quality assurance environment

- 4+ years of experience in an IT role requiring interaction with senior management (i.e., Director level and above)
