Job Description

The Office of Computing and Information Services (CIS) at the City University of New York (CUNY) support the IT and telecommunications needs of CUNY's 24 colleges. CIS supports enterprise IT and applications; develops new technologies that advance University's core mission; builds, upgrades and maintains the University's network; operates the University's Data Center and help desk; develops disaster recovery and business continuity plans; and leads the CUNYfirst Enterprise Resource Planning Project (ERP), which integrates 25 university systems, covering student administration, financial management, and human resources.

 

Reporting to the PeopleSoft Finance Solutions Manager, the PeopleSoft Financials Lead will be a techno-functional application support specialist responsible for day-to-day techno-functional application support. Supported modules shall include Cash Manager, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Purchasing, eProcurement, eSupplier, Travel & Expense and Commitment Control. The PeopleSoft Financials Lead offers superior client support, promotes and ensures consistent performance of deployed services and in coordination with others and supports the application change control process; and collaborate with various IT teams to implement solutions, program modification and process transactions.

 

The PeopleSoft Financials Lead's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

-Acts as a resource in the technical upgrade, business process management, and analysis and design configuration of the PeopleSoft Financials/Supply Chain Management (SCM) modules.

-Analyzes customizations to retrofit to delivered product as much as possible.

-Collaborates with Pillar Support Leads, managers and others to facilitate processes, projects, installations and formulation of operating policies and procedures, especially in relation to CUNYfirst and the PeopleSoft Financials/SCM pillar.

-Utilizing a thorough knowledge of the overall functioning of PeopleSoft FSCM module and lead technical efforts; assists functional teams in troubleshooting reported FSCM issues.

-Develops design documents based on business requirements.

-Evaluates and analyzes user requests and requirements for new or modified programs.

-Manages system administration and supports activities focused on the PeopleSoft Financials portion of the CUNYfirst PeopleSoft implementation including testing, change control, monitoring utilization and triaging support.

-Studies existing installation to evaluate effectiveness and develop new approaches to improve production or specifications as required.

-Supports users through unit, integration, system and user testing.

-Troubleshoots and resolves technical/functional issues, determines if technical requirements are met, develops action plans to correct deficiencies, works with functional teams to test, diagnoses and isolates the root cause of problems, coordinates further diagnoses and tests as necessary and recommends and implements appropriate workarounds to complete functional/technical SCM service requests.

-Performs other duties as necessary.

 

Job duties require schedule flexibility and willingness to work evenings or weekends as required for systems-related tasks.

 

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will be an experienced IT Application Support Lead with proven functional and technical knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:

 

-Extensive working experience must be related to the job duties listed above in PeopleSoft Financials/Supply Chain Management 9 or higher in a lead role.

-Experience with PeopleSoft Cash Management and General Ledger modules are required; Additional experience with other modules should include: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Purchasing, eProcurement, eSupplier, Travel & Expense, and/or Commitment Control.

-Experience in problem triage and resolution as applied to IT applications.

-Experience in production application change control practices and processes.

-Thorough knowledge of of PeopleTools 8.5.x in the area of SQR, PeopleCode, Application Engine, XML Publisher, SQL Developer and others.

-Understanding of the workings of Weblogic, Tuxedo, SFTP and BPEL in a PeopleSoft-hosted environment.

-Strong communication skills to interface with technical staff, administrative users, business process owners and other Information Resources managers.

-Exceptionally well-organized and able to effectively analyze and resolve complex problems while rendering sound resolutions, and have the ability to articulate goals and manage multiple resources and priorities.

-Ability to work productively as an individual contributor and collaboratively as a team member in a fastpaced, time-sensitive, customer-responsive, and team-oriented environment.

Level 1: $91,298

Level 2: $99,599

Level 3: $109,560
