Position:  IT Project Manager

Company Information:

Client is an IT Managed Services Provider specializing in providing managed services to small and medium sized companies and government entities in the Northeast as well as engineering and IT consulting projects to large enterprises.

Duties:

As project manager ensure that project objectives are attained on time and within budget. Responsibilities will include designing schedules, assessing risks, recruiting team members, monitoring staff and sub-contractors, budgeting, and tracking progress.

  • Work with sales partner project managers to successfully manage our client technology upgrades and new installations.
  • Work with sales and engineering teams to successfully manage our client technology upgrades and new installations.
  • Lead all aspects of projects, including resource planning, resource allocation, project documentation, client engagement and change management.
  • Address and resolve project risks, roadblocks, and obstacles while securing resources to efficiently complete deliverables.
  • Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Delegate tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them
  • Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
  • Serve as a point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy
  • Develop/utilize standard project management practices and tools for project tracking.
  • Schedule and chair weekly/biweekly project meetings and distribute minutes.
  • Become proficient in Client’s CRM procedures and workflow utilizing Salesforce.com
  • Become proficient in creating project schedules utilizing Microsoft Project or Smartsheet web-based project tracker.
  • Assist the sales team in the development of IT implementation scopes when needed.
  • Assist the client services group to develop a standard, repeatable project close process.

Qualifications:

Associates Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent work
experience is required.

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer
Science is preferred.

Ability to Organize and plan client upgrade and new install projects;  Ability to multitask and prioritize client issues.
Solid understanding of IT support processes and procedures with the ability to recommend improvements to current processes.
Excellent communication & collaborative abilities.
Proven experience working within a team of individuals in an IT support environment.
Ability to communicate clear instruction to both technical and non-technical
audiences.


2-3 years Hands-on experience preferred with installation and management experience
with any of the following:
o Windows Server
o Hyper-V / Xen / Nutanix / VMware vSphere Virtualization
o Windows Desktop (10)
o Mobile Devices
o Active Directory & Group Policy
o Endpoint Security Solutions
o Exchange Messaging Server & Office365
o Network Routing & Switching
o Firewalls
o Disaster Recovery concepts & backup technologies
o Microsoft Azure & AWS
o Wireless Networking
o Network Attached Storage & iSCSI Storage Solutions
o Network Access Control
o Ticketing/CRM Systems (Salesforce, Spiceworks, Continuum, etc.)

• Technical Certifications in one or more of the following areas: HPe, Aruba Networks,
Microsoft Server, Microsoft O365, Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortigate, Security+, Network+

Client will pay for training required for any technical certifications
