Job Description

Nims & Associates has an exciting opportunity for an IT Support Consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area. A good candidate should at least five years of IT support or help desk experience and have a strong Microsoft background, with extensive experience with Office365 and general office equipment.  As an IT Support Consultant you will be responsible for working client issues remotely that arrive via our internal IT ticketing system and you will also be responsible for onsite visits to clients within the San Francisco Bay area.

Responsibilities include —
  • Provide remote technical support for Microsoft related technologies including Windows and Desktops, Servers, Exchange, SharePoint, Hyper-V, etc.
  • Provision and or troubleshoot deskside and laptop issues.
  • Provide remote technical support for remote access solutions including VPN, RDP and SonicWALL Secure Mobile Access Appliances, etc.
  • Perform complex troubleshooting of backup systems.
  • Remotely investigate issues with network devices.
  • Ensure that all support resolutions adhere with Nims & Associates documented best practices.
  • Follow defined processes for reactive support ticket handling for every support request.
  • Ability to consistently create and follow through with solid resolution plans after initial support request assessment and escalate requests when necessary.
  • Aid in the design and maintenance of client how-to and general process documentation
 
Requirements –
  • Minimum of five years’ work experience in the IT service provider industry, as a consultant or with a MSP or IT Services company.
  • Strong experience implementing and administering Microsoft Active Directory (On-Premise, Office 365, Azure) managing Group Policy, Exchange, DHCP, DNS, ADFS, and Terminal Services.
  • Experience with routing and switching both managed and unmanaged.
  • Some experience with VOIP.
  • Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).
  • Strong understanding of wired and wireless networking principles.
  • Strong experience managing and implementing storage and backup infrastructure.
  • Must be willing to participate in On-Call rotation schedule.
  • Must be willing to work in an MSP environment,
  • Understanding of ITIL and best practices related to IT Operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; sense of urgency and drive.
  • Team player: must be able to communicate with and coach other team members, present to non-technical customers.
  • Solution-oriented, constructive approach to problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and navigate highly complex technical environments.
  • Must be able to travel to client sites three times a week within the San Francisco Bay area.
