Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of IT Infrastructure and/or IT Support Supervisor, perform a variety of technical support services in the installation, operation, repair, and diagnosis of computer equipment, cloud hosted virtual machines, as well as networks. Provide technical user assistance.

Skills and Abilities:

Required:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills, particularly patience, tact, and courtesy are critical, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of PC hardware, Windows and Linux OS, and associated peripheral and software components.
  • Experience with virtual desktops, RDP and other remote access software, ticketing systems, PC imaging software
  • Strong skills to diagnose issues over many corporate communication methods such as phone, instant messaging, text, MS Teams, etc.
  • Knowledge of applicable types of cabling systems, switches, routers, and LAN network systems.
  • Basic networking skills (DHCP, DNS, PXE, Subnets, ping, traceroute, network card configs and troubleshooting)
  • Ability to logically troubleshoot and repair hardware and software associated with personal computers, peripheral devices, voice systems, wired and wireless data networks, and telecommunications systems (fax and corporate phone systems)
  • Analyze situations accurately and determine appropriate course of action.
  • Ability to systematically analyze new and/or existing hardware functionality.
  • Ability to work independently, self-starter with good time management skills.
  • Ability to interact cohesively in a team environment.
  • Ability to use available reference materials and locate necessary documentation through vendors and/or the Internet
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with time-sensitive deadlines.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, reach, lift (up to 50 pounds), bend, etc.
  • hand and wrist dexterity to utilize a computer.
  • Work is based in an office environment; climate controlled through air conditioning but may be required to do some work outdoors throughout the year and will be exposed to the outdoor conditions.
  • May be required to travel to sites, attend off site meetings, and other related functions.


Environmental Conditions Critical to Performance:

  • Bachelor's Computer Science or 1-2 Years in computer support, troubleshooting, and/or repair work.
  • A+ or Network+ Certification is a plus
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner is a plus.
  • Microsoft desktop or Office365/M365 certifications or training are a plus


Education and Experience:

  • Provide excellent customer service at all times to internal and external customers.
  • Record tickets into ticketing system and follow up with users for pending tickets to meet SLAs.
  • Responsible for installing/generating, maintaining Amazon WorkSpaces, desktop PCs, laptops, printers and peripheral hardware and resolving PC connectivity / hardware problems.
  • Performs technical troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common technical problems.
  • Setup and maintain basic computer operations, including assembly of computer hardware when warranted.
  • Provide technical support to end users; provide training and support in the proper use of installed software applications, telephonic and communication systems; responds to questions or problems in person or on the telephone
