Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Security Operations Center (SOC) is a US Government program responsible to prevent, identify, contain and eradicate cyber threats to networks through monitoring, intrusion detection and protective security services to information systems including local area networks/wide area networks (LAN/WAN), commercial Internet connection, public facing websites, wireless, mobile/cellular, cloud, security devices, servers and workstations. The SOC is responsible for the overall security of Enterprise-wide information systems, and collects, investigates and reports any suspected and confirmed security violations.
The FEMA Governance, Risk, and Compliance team is responsible for IV&V testing of remediated IT controls for client's FISMA systems.
The Governance, Risk, and Compliance team within the SOC Support Service Program has a critical need for an Independent Verification and Validation Lead.
Location is flexible for Mount Weather, VA or Washington DC.
This role includes:
Reviewing and performing analysis of Component V&V
Communicating results to the Deputy CISO
Tracking V&V packages
Providing updates to be included in audit reports
BS with 8-12 years professional experience, or Masters with 6-10
Must have an active Secret Clearance.
5 years of experience in Independent Verification and Validation
7 years of professional experience in a Computer Science discipline
Hands-on experience with Tenable Nessus, WebInspect, Fortify, AppDetective, and other vulnerability management tools considered a must-have
Experience with System Security Packages, Authority to Operate, and FISMA requirements considered a must-have
