Title: Information Analyst Consultant

The Information Analyst Consultant provides a growing level of expertise in a focused area of the business.
The Information Analyst Consultant will work, under supervision, on low to medium complexity projects for a specific business unit(s) to advance their use of data and analytics. Through guided analysis, the Information Analyst Consultant assists in defining, developing and implementing data and business intelligence solutions for a specific area of a business AoR
Provides business knowledge and support for resolving technology issues in their focused area of the business
With assistance, analyzes and translates business, data, functional, and user requirements and/or business rules into analytic and reporting requirements, data models and metadata deliverables
Aids in producing consistent, accurate and complete data requirements and definitions
Participates in information gathering sessions
Contributes to the construction and execution of simple SQL queries and review data profiling results to discover semantics, patterns and value domains of data under analysis
Performs simple data analysis to determine, document and communicate existing data relationships, profiles and quality levels
Contributes to the updating and maintenance of simple logical (conceptual, relational, subject-level and dimensional) data models and other metadata deliverables at multiple levels of detail and functionality for a specific business subject area
Participates in inspection sessions to validate that modeled data and related metadata deliverables match and satisfy business data requirements
Participates in reviews of physical data model and related technical detail with database administrators and technical developers as part of a single project's development life cycle
Learns the corporate metadata development tools and processes
Assists with project initiation or planning for new projects while learning the estimation process
Learns and understands data management for a specific unit(s) of a business AoR
Builds knowledge of tools and processes required to drive data management
Basic SQL skills
College Degree with EIS or MIS classes or prior experience
Prior experience in database modeling classes, MIS or EIS, system support, analytics, statistics
2-4 years experience
Strong communication skills
Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this job
