Job Summary

The Information Security Solutions Architect works in an environment that offers unique challenges which demand a motivated, self-sufficient, passionate security professional. The ideal applicant is a well-rounded InfoSec practitioner who can jump into any technical or business engagement and provide actionable architectural guidance for software engineering, systems admin, and business teams. Always searching for a better way to build the security mousetrap, the Solutions Architect advocates for secure solutions that keep the company moving.

Our Team:

We are a team of collaborative InfoSec professionals who are always pushing ourselves and each other to grow. Most of our time is spent researching, digging into problem statements, collaborating with other Architects and creating actionable guidance standards for teams. Our team collaborates with delivery, implementation, and business teams to build secure solutions. We do not configure SIEMs, Firewalls, IDP, etc., but instead, help project teams determine the secure path forward and help get them there. The broader InfoSec team is a diverse group of individuals with varying backgrounds and perspectives, unified by a love for technology and security. We work hard, play hard, and dress casual!

Ask yourself if the following sounds fun:
  • Driving your own day with minimal supervision
  • Working with teams on innovative solutions that challenge the status quo
  • When presented with a problem statement, you're able to think through the applicable layers (OSI Model), evaluate the risks involved, and advocate for the appropriate security controls at each layer
  • Interpreting the existing standards and fixing them when faced with a challenge
  • Following the breadcrumbs from across the organization to identify areas in the business where security help is needed
  • Working with other InfoSec experts to help create new standards when trends begin to emerge
  • Speaking business, IT, and InfoSec
  • Researching and advising on security best practices within our teams, trains, and sister companies
  • Digging in to find out the "why" to ensure we're doing the right things for the right reasons
  • Advising and helping team implement security patterns to be applied across a multi-tenant, multi-platform, and multi-company environment
  • Working on a team that challenges each other to level up
  • Being an active member in the InfoSec community
  • Staying up to date with security trends and threats
  • Being encouraged to attend conferences and training (ProTip - We'll reimburse you!)

Did you answer 'yes' to the questions above? If so, we want to talk to you!

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Business, IT, Project Management, Architecture, and Information Security teams to help teams deliver secure solutions that support our business
  • Review project and process plans to ensure security is baked in
  • Consult with teams to ensure data is properly handled throughout our environment
  • Work with InfoSec Analysts to ensure visibility and security controls are implemented and maintained
  • Collaborate with Architecture and other InfoSec teams when identifying emerging new trends in the business that need updated standards to protect our team members and clients
  • Review changes to technical controls to jump into action if it looks like a business process needs help
  • Work with the Enterprise Risk Team to perform qualitative risk estimations on systems and applications
