King County Information Technology (KCIT), the central information technology provider for King County, is seeking an Information Technology Project Manager II for a three year Term-Limited-Temporary position to assist the Puget Sound Emergency Radio System (PSERN) project by providing project management support to further project initiatives. This IT PM II will involve in the PSERN project implementation of the PSERN Land Mobile Radio system, DC Systems, Microwave Radio Network, Video and Monitoring Systems including the installation, testing, and maintenance.
The work environment is mostly indoors in a general office environment with minimal exposure to health and safety hazards. It does involve outdoor on site visits, and requires travel in a county vehicle. This will require a valid WA state driver's license.

Puget Sound Emergency Radio Network (PSERN) Project
PSERN is a $273 million project that will replace the emergency radio system for King County and regional partners. Working with multiple jurisdictions at multiple levels, the County is leading this project on behalf of the regional partners. The County has begun implementation of the project and expects project duration of 3 to 4 more years. The County will be lead for all project activities including replacement of all electronic communications infrastructure, upgrade of radio towers and associated building structures and the replacement of ~16,000 end user radios for approximately 160 radio system customers. This is a multidimensional project that includes the following components: state of the art land mobile radio technology, multijurisdictional governance and operational changes and adherence with County IT project oversight.

This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not overtime eligible. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm.
