Job Description

This is a salaried direct/permanent hire opportunity.  Third party candidates and those who require sponsorship cannot be considered. 

Ensures IT projects produce required outcomes, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost. Consistently provides application support, analysis and development across multiple software platforms. Works with business leaders to understand requirements and solutions following best practices. Participates as a team member while using the experience gained to support business processes.

Duties & Functions

  • Infrastructure Management: Lead projects and delegate tasks relating to updating and maintaining communication and security software and hardware at all USA branches.
  • Track all open projects and tasks using a defined project management method. Define project goals, scope and constraints and deliver on given initiatives.
  • Develop and document project plan when appropriate.
  • Assess the requirements of the project and recommending suitable IT solutions.
  • Identify, and manage final and interim milestones by phase.
  • Supplier Management Source IT products and services from 3rd party suppliers. Manage relationships with existing suppliers and ensure committed performance and quality is delivered.
  • Perform yearly supplier audits to analyze gaps in performance and potential for improvement.
  • Platform Administration and Support  Responsible for overall Infrastructure administration (related to network, servers, or overall system). Assist with end-user support.
  • Serve as 2nd level escalation point for IT infrastructure issues.
  • Provide emergency response for system outages.
  • Provides oversight, maintenance, and accountability to USA’s digital security.
  • Responsibilities include managing others, interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints, conducting employee reviews, and addressing disciplinary concerns.
  • Effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualification Standards

  • Minimum 5 years of technical experience working with or operating communication and security hardware and software.
  • Deep technical expertise, familiarity with standard project management practices, understanding of IT operations best practice frameworks like ITIL and COBIT.
  • Licensing to manage and maintain private security systems.
  • Preferred additional licensing showing proficiency in audio visual and telecommunication hardware and software.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing internal clients and or vendor relationships.
  • Ability to audit and analyze audio visual, telecommunication, and security infrastructure, present findings in a clear manner to upper management and develop and lead projects for improvement.
  • Preferred 2 years of experience working in the Freight Forwarding / Logistics industry or experience managing the flow of goods through a supply chain.
  • Experience managing remote, large-scale deployment of software and firmware updates.
  • Ability to work independently and establish ownership while driving resolutions to projects.
  • Strong critical thinking, as well as organizational, multitasking, prioritization, and interpersonal communication skills.
