Technical Assistance Center Technician 

Position Description/Responsibilities:

This is a fast-paced position with tremendous opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP). In this Technical Assistance Center (TAC) position you will work directly with different departments and customers on a variety of managed security solutions.  This department responds to inbound requests via phone and other electronic means for technical assistance on the Nuspire solutions. This position has remote capabilities for the right candidate. 

Required Skills:

  • Professional experience in configuration and Remote troubleshooting and diagnosis of the following topics:
    • IPV4/ IPV6 Addressing and Subnetting
    • Routing – Static and Dynamic
    • VPN - IPSEC / SSL
    • NAT- Static / Dynamic / PAT
    • Access Control List
    • Understanding of SMTP
    • 802.11 a/b/g/n
    • TCP/UDP Protocols
    • Common Router functions (DHCP, SNMP, Syslogs)
  • Experience working with a variety of clients and vendors
  • Experience supporting managed security technologies
  • Develop network proposal changes for improved security posture
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in technical and non-technical jargon
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and security practices
  • Ability to work in collaboration with team and individually

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous Firewall Experience (Watchguard, Cisco, SonicWALL, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
  • Knowledge PCI DSS, HIPAA, FISMA, SOX, GLBA, ISO 27000
  • Utilizing network diagnostic tools (Wireshark, Netflow, NMap, etc)
  • Understanding of MX and SPF records as it relates to mail service
  • Previous experience with endpoint security solutions. (Cylance, Sentinel One, Etc.)

Education/Certifications/Training Required:

  • Associate Degree in any IT related course of study

Education/Certifications/Training Desired:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any IT related course of study
  • CCNA, CCNP
  • Network+, Security+
