Job Description


The Squires Group, Inc. has multiple contract opportunities for Senior Level JavaScript and Ruby on Rails Developers to join an AGILE Development project for a Federal Agency in Arlington, VA. As a JavaScript and Ruby on Rails Developer, you will join a team of developers building the next generation of customer engagement systems for Federal Service Agencies. This is an urgent need!

Per our Federal Government contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens, eligible to pass the client's background requirements.


  • Work with product owners and colleagues to interpret feature requests and develop software in iterative design/build/test cycles using an Agile development process for a responsive web application
  • Drawing on components from the project's open-source framework, use JavaScript, React.JS, RESTful web services, and Ruby on Rails to design, build and test software components for citizens and employees
  • Develop front-end user interface components using JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and back-end APIs to support the front-end application
  • Regularly check code into the continuous integration pipeline based on Jenkins to incrementally build the overall system and get immediate feedback on build performance
  • Develop and expand unit and integration tests which will be automatically run by the build pipeline for developer feedback using JUnit and other tools like Cucumber, JMeter, and Selenium


  • BS or BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineer, Business, or related field
  • 7 + years of experience with the following:
    • Application development
    • Ruby on Rails
    • Java and JavaScript (e.g., React.js)
    • HTML experience
  • 4+ years of experience in using and managing change management tools, Git, Subversion, TortoiseSVN, and build server software (Jenkins/Hudson/Bamboo)
  • AGILE Development experience
