Writes, rewrites, edits, and delivers technical documents such as Requirements Specifications, Design Documents, Installation and Configuration Guides, Transition Plans, Training Materials, and User Manuals. Communicates technical specifications and instructions clearly and effectively to a wide range of project stakeholders. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing analysts, developers, and engineers and observes the system and software capabilities and performance. Assists with preparation of appropriate illustrative materials, diagrams and charts, and other formal presentation material for customer review. Conducts quality reviews of materials. Provides research and writes professional documents including program reports, procedures, documentation, and analysis. Compiles diverse policy, technical, statistical, demographic, and financial information. Edits professional documents in conformance with best practices. Determines the suitability of material for target audience. Assists in coordinating projects from the planning stage, provides additional or missing materials, and edits for content format, flow, and integrity. Reviews and edits documents developed by others to ensure accuracy and quality of content, organization, language, format consistency, and conformance with established standards. Writes and revises development documentation in compliance with DHS System Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) standards. Develops and communicates standards, organization, style guides, and tools and content for technical documentation. Responsible for some administrative tasks, such as taking meeting minutes, scheduling meeting spaces and conference bridges, and keeping the document repository site up-to-date. Supports conferences and performs communication and outreach activities as part of the Supervisory Office work. Promote a public website via user engagement activities. Recommends social media outreach activities.
