This position this remote but travel is required.
Must has Digital TV, Satellite RF boradcast, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, HEVC, and Ethernet, Linux, networking with TCP/IP experience.
Our client is seeking a Field Engineer who will be responsible for our broadcast customers Modular Video Compression Systems. They will be traveling around the country to install, upgrade, maintain and troubleshoot company compression systems. International travel is possible. In this role the candidate will work with a variety of technologies including Digital TV, Satellite RF broadcast, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, HEVC, and Ethernet. This position includes participation in the planning, installation and upgrading of company systems including third party equipment. The systems are often on complex customer networked environments. Working with company Project Management and Support Teams, you will be responsible for development of site plans related to installation and upgrades of company Digital Video Solutions for Cable Television and Telecommunication Providers around the country.
- College degree or technical certification in computer science
- Hands-on technical experience with computers and networks.
- Knowledgeable in Linux, Unix, SQL, Junos and Cisco.
- Knowledgeable in networking: TCP/IP, UDP/IP, IGMP v3, VLANs, Layer 2 switching, Layer 3 routing
- Knowledgeable in MPEG and IP Video Streaming
The candidate must be able to grasp digital Video Compression systems. They will be traveling to San Diego for training. They will also accompany current Field Engineers to locations around the country for training. Once trained, they will travel to locations for installing and upgrading company systems. Challenges are travel, troubleshooting systems and professional customer interactions.
