Solidus is searching for a Developer to provide software support to laser systems. This support may include, but not be limited to, implementing APIs for various instruments and hardware, developing applications for desktop or embedded use, implement software actors to model finite state machines, and developing user interfaces under supervision of technical staff. Provide Support for instrumenting, integrating, controlling, automating, interfacing, and monitoring these systems.
The successful candidate will join a team that develops and applies laser systems and optics in solutions of defense and other U. S. Government needs.

-MS plus 3 years minimum experience, or BS plus 5 years minimum experience
-Experience with or interest in LabVIEW for programming Windows, Linux Real-time, and FPGA systems or some subset of these.
-Knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP): classes, inheritance, composition, design patterns, etc
-Proficiency with at least one high-level programming language that supports OOP and/or functional programming paradigms. For example, but not limited to: LabVIEW, C#, F#, Java, Clojure, Scala, Ocaml, Python, C++, Lisp, Scheme
-Experience with or interest in instrument control and automation. Example protocols/interfaces are: RS-232, SCPI, GPIB, TCP/IP, Camera Link, GigE, analog and digital I/O, etc. or calling instrument APIs via C/C++ DLLs or .NET assemblies.
- Proficiency with National Instruments hardware (PXIe, cRIO, cDAQ, etc.) and hardware drivers (NI-VISA, NI-IMAQ, NI-DAQmx, etc).
-Proficiency with programming concurrent applications
-Knowledge of the actor model and actor frameworks.
-Experience with .NET, C#, F#, WPF, UWP. .NET
-Experience with Python.
-Interest in functional first, multi-paradigm languages such as F# or Racket (or any ML or Lisp/Scheme dialect)
-General experience with hardware (understanding power requirements, cabling, using DMMs and oscilloscopes, etc)
-Experience with MATLAB
-Experience with FPGAs using either National Instruments or Xilinx toolchains
-Experience with GitHub and Linux
