Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Designs, develops, and supports highly available, scalable systems with a focus on automating all phases of the process using scripting languages, software development, AWS automation platforms like CloudFormation, Chef, Jenkins, etc.Evaluates functional and technical business requirements; transforms those requirements into infrastructure solutionsResearches, develops and communicates engineering and system roadmaps, opportunities and constraints to technical and non-technical stakeholdersMaintains the strategy and vision of the Company’s technology systems in collaboration with Enterprise ArchitectureLeads the Infrastructure software deployment practice using the Atlassian tool suiteMust be proficient acting in and leading integrated process teams, as well as coordinating and communicating customer requirements.Comfortable leading a team of professionals within the business, application/systems, data/information and technical architecture disciplines. Must have excellent communication skills to be able to clearly explain the benefits of an architectural approach to clients and stakeholders.Works closely with stakeholders (business, architecture, and engineering) to guide the acquisition and definition of new technologies.Defines requirements that enable the development and operation of capable infrastructure systemsSelects and develops solutions and templates that enable agile development and release of systems to customersAdvise on and participate in the governance processes established to ensure that the enterprise architecture delivers the desired benefits to the organization.Serve as a subject matter expert for architectural frameworks, methods and tools.Mentors and directs the activities of the other team members and assist in coordinating their technical training.Designs and ensures adoption of technical standards including but not limited to, disaster recovery, security, and systems integration.Maintains focus on delivering initiatives that align with company strategy.Collaborates with Enterprise Architecture team.Maintains a commitment to providing outstanding customer service to each customer.Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:This position requires a minimum of seven years Systems Engineer experience with hands on experience in infrastructure design, automation and administration. Excellent technical and practical skills with proven expertise and experience in technologies used in infrastructure systems to including but not limited to, Linux, Apache Web, Apache Tomcat, Amazon Web Services, Chef, Atlassian, Microsoft Windows Server, Virtualization /VMware, Server Clustering, MS Active Directory, Enterprise monitoring, Enterprise backup, Storage, MS SQL Server, server hardware, Network Protocols, DNS/DHCP, MS Exchange, MS SharePoint Server, System Mgmt. Tools and LANDesk, Knowledge of networking concepts, including but not limited to advanced networking, switching and routing) preferred. Ability to develop a complete set of architectural views in accordance with the common architecture framework such as TOGAF is required. In depth knowledge of enterprise datacenter technologies, desktop operating systems, end point management platforms and mobile management platforms required. Demonstrated business acumen with knowledge and understanding of business issues, priorities, goals, and strategy is necessary. Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization is necessary; ability to clearly articulate technical ideas to a non-technical audience both verbally and in writing is required. Ability to identify complex problems, review information to develop and evaluate options then implement solutions is essential. Proven ability to multi-task and motivate self and others while managing multiple projects and meeting various deadlines simultaneously is required. Customer service skills, including the ability to manage and respond to different customer situations while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude are essential. In addition, organizational and problem solving skills, a can-do attitude, and the ability to adjust to changing requirements are essential.
