General Mills is developing a best-in-class Digital Supply Chain capabilities that helps drive data-driven decisions of General Mills supply chain now and into the future. An integral part of this is developing scaled capabilities to drive integrated digital supply chain solutions to adopt Industry 4.0 revolutions. This role is critical in the strategy and delivery of these capabilities for End-to-End Supply Chains across all Pillars/Business Units and help D&T to drive mission critical portfolio management, long range planning, business case development, and leading project teams. The main capability areas of focus are Cross-Functional Leadership, Strategic Roadmap Development, Technology, and Data. Success looks like partnership with the Supply Chain Leadership, developing a high performing team, delivering on commitments, Lead the development of GMI products related to all aspects of Supply Chain and continuous optimization of how the team's work. This is a rare opportunity at the intersection of disrupting data and technology to drive business results for the largest portfolio of Digital/ Cognitive Supply Chain

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Perform analysis to identify opportunities and solve complex business and Supply Chain problems
  • Assessing, developing, and implementing supply chain strategies to support overarching business strategy, reduce operating costs and optimize asset utilization
  • Developing current and future state process flows for supply chain process improvement initiatives using process mapping tools like Visio
  • Assisting in developing strategic sourcing strategy by undertaking spend assessment across spend categories and evaluating supply contracts
  • Implementing optimized Supply Chain Planning processes including Forecast-to-Deploy (FTD), Procure-to-Pay (PTP), and Order-to-Cash (OTC)
  • Create supply network strategies and engage with ecosystem partners that allow the realization of business vision and aspirations
  • Partner with Supply Chain Business SME and other stakeholders to create and drive SC Digital roadmap
  • Mix analytical insights with business knowledge to build Supply Chain Plans
  • Provide thought leadership consultancy and apply creative analytical solutions in the development of supply chain and decision-support tools
  • Mix AI, analytical insights with business knowledge to build solutions that work in the real world
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across SC and it Pillar (Source, Make, Customer, Plan and Deliver) teams, Digital & Technology, and other partners to define requirements for new tools and systems
  • Build, pilot, and deploy the solution(s) using an agile approach. Digitizing the supply network by building digital threads that run through each of the existing supply chain nodes thus blurring the lines between traditional functions, products, and divisions
  • Collaborate across External SC partners and vendors for decision support tools
  • Influence, educate, and train the organization to adopt new tools
  • Partners with Tech Strategy and Innovation leaders to assesses the disruptive forces impacting our organization, in its journey to digital transformation and optimization.
  • Define "What" and the "Why" and manage delivery. Be able to breakdown goals and strategies into actionable deliverables and milestones
  • Prioritize and manage work and secure appropriate talent
  • Partnership with our Supply Chain business teams in development of new capabilities that leverage the Cloud, AI. Examples include Digital Twin, Control Tower, Predictive Capabilities, Real-time alerting.
  • Proactively builds the knowledge base and groom resources to meet the future AI-First SC portfolio
  • Leverage automation, cognitive and science-based techniques to manage data, predict scenarios and prescribe actions
  • Drive operational efficiency by maintaining their data ecosystems, sourcing analytics expertise and providing As-a-Service offerings for continuous insights and improvements
  • Use external perspective and internal relationships to improve how we work and what we deliver - keeps abreast of what's happening within the digital, cognitive supply chain space and proactively shares strategic insights with the leadership team
  • Effectively use and interpret Qualitative and quantitative research
  • Understanding Global Supply Chain Priorities (GMI & BLUE) and creating roadmap for solutions delivery
  • Hands on functional experience with Digital Supply Chain
  • Collaborating with peers in a large, matrixed organizations, including significant experience with offshore teams and delivery

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or quantitative discipline with strong analytical expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex data / analytics / business projects and deliver business impact at scale
  • Experience working in matrix and non-hierarchical teams
  • Exceptional Communication Skills - ability to clearly and simply communicate complex results to a wide range of audiences
  • Learning agility - ability to work in white space to build new analytical processes and tools
  • Familiarity with syndicated data sets (Nielsen/IRI/ESC), price and promotion models, trade system data, and financial data would be helpful
  • Ability to consider multiple approaches for different business models / market conditions / data quality and to design analytics and reports to answer targeted questions
  • Experience in SAP data / planning environment a plus
  • Working knowledge in statistical algorithms, predictive modeling techniques
  • Proficiency on Big Data technology and keep abreast of new tools and analytical concepts
  • Working knowledge of SQL, relational database and Cloud-based environment such as Google Cloud Platform and experience working with BigQuery a plus
  • Previous supply chain experience - with CPG experience highly valued
  • Experience working with Cloud, AI, data visualization tools (Tableau), and data integration platforms (Alteryx, Talend) a strong plus

  • 7 years of Supply Chain or Information Technology experience focused on SC Analysis
  • Experience coaching others to leverage and adhere to standards in order to produce consistent, repeatable results
  • Knowledge of Operations Research and Mechanism Design a plus
  • Ability to align processes across organizational boundaries and the total value stream
  • Experience identifying and removing barriers that prevent teams from achieving zero loss.
  • Experience with Open-Source technologies and/or cloud architecture. AI, Graph Db is a plus
  • Direct people management experience

  • The preferred location for this role is Minneapolis, MN however remote work-at-home applications within the United States will be considered.
