Analytic Common Capability is an analytics engine designed to evaluate HEDIS quality measures on electronic health records and provide customized quality analytics to both internal business units and external customers. A large project is being undertaken on the analytics engine to take advantage of cloud architecture as well as the latest high throughput, low-latency streaming technologies.

We are seeking an ambitious Java engineer to take the lead on building a brand-new high-performance micro-services system which delivers healthcare insights across billions of data points. The insights we produce from our data bring meaningful impact to healthcare management for millions of patients across the globe.

Primary Responsibilities:

Work alongside talented DevOps and Big Data engineers to design and implement the full cloud architecture
Find the best ways to combine ElasticSearch and the Apache toolset to implement high performance data pipelines
Build a complex, high-performance Java micro-services system to deliver high impact insights for the healthcare industry

Required Qualifications:

Experience with core Java, JEE, Spring
In-depth knowledge of Restful APIs, Docker, ElasticSearch
Experience designing and writing distributed micro-services
Experience working with the Apache toolset (Hadoop, HBase, Spark, etc.)
Knowledge of CI/CD best practices, service monitoring, automation

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of AWS services and SDK/CLI (EC2, CloudWatch, SNS, S3, ELB)
Data modelling experience
Experience using Jenkins, Chef or similar
Experience with ElasticSearch
Ability to coach and mentor engineers in an AGILE framework
