Overview:




The Lead Software Architect is a key member of the CSRA team in support of the Administration Office for the US Courts (AO) Case Management Systems Office (CMSO). Our company works with the AO to develop systems that provide Probation and Pretrial Services Officers, judges, and other stakeholders the automated functionality they need to perform more efficiently and make informed decisions. The successful candidate will be a solid leader and technologist.

Responsibilities:




We are seeking a self-motivated Lead Software Architect with 10+ years of experience in IT architecture design and development. The Lead Software Architect will oversee a team of enterprise, system, solution and infrastructure architects to develop an architecture roadmap to support next generation IT capabilities. The ideal candidate will be a key contributor who is energetic, innovative, and has superior technical, analytical, and problem solving skills. The Lead Software Architect is focused primarily on the following responsibilities, based on Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles:
  • Drive stability and quality efforts across all products
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and maintain the Architectural Runway in support of upcoming user and business needs
  • Standardize architecture, code development processes and use of technology and tools across teams.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews, as well as release planning for projects that require complex technical solutions
  • Evaluate design alternatives, and perform cost benefit analysis
  • Serve as a resource to help agile teams make appropriate system and component level design decisions
  • Develop and maintain models and documentation that describe how the system does what it is intended to do

Qualifications:





  • Experience leading and driving IT transformation initiatives for large organizations
  • Extensive experience in Java-based technology stack and modern Java frameworks like Spring and JEE

  • Ability to quickly grasp legacy software architecture

  • Experience in developing coding standards, techniques, and best practices.
  • Ability to provide hands-on coding direction and guidance to agile teams
  • Experience with cloud-based application development platforms, technologies & frameworks
  • Must have a strong background in DevOps and be able to direct & guide the development of a DevOps pipeline
  • Previous experience as a primary contributor to an architecture team in systems design, building, testing, and implementation.
  • Experience designing technical architectures, services, APIs, applications, and web sites using multiple technology platforms.
  • Experience in contributing domain-specific expertise by reviewing code, technical architecture/design reviews, and mentoring team members in new technologies.
  • Ability to assess current or future customer needs and priorities through communicating directly with customers, conducting surveys, or other methods.
  • Ability to listen to the needs of our internal clients, communicate clearly, and determine ideal configurations for a new development teams and projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and team skills are critical to success.
