This position will handle a variety of responsibilities including: configuring, monitoring and maintaining RedHat Linux operating systems in a dynamic, virtualized environment. A successful candidate will ensure that all servers operate at optimum levels. The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should be comfortable working in a team environment and willing to work flexible hours. On-call and after hours support is a requirement of this position. Additional job requirements include: Responsibilities: - Experienced in large scale Production Support Server Environment - Handling Data Center Operations with Business & Mission Critical applications - Handling escalated incidents or high critical tickets - Predicting Risk/Impact and Participating in Major Changes - Reporting, Performance and Capacity Planning - Able to work with Venders and Developers to implement application requirements - Technical Transition & Documentation skills - Design, Migration and upgrading of existing infrastructure
Education and Experience Required: 5+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total). RHCSA certification required. Knowledge and Skills Required: - Has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be individually responsible for the design and scope of deliverables within a field of expertise. - Has ability to perform/drive resolution of problems on combinations and interactions of products. Ability to apply technology and consulting to solve a client business problem. - Able to communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence. Demonstrates the use of consulting skills including: questioning, listening, ideas development, permission and rapport, and influencing. - Ability to conduct/lead oral status/technical interchange meetings with client. - Ability to translate technical details into concise and easy to understand written form. Ability to write relevant components of a proposal document (e.g. answer specific RFP questions). Ability to translate verbal requirements face to face client meetings into requirements documents, statements of work, and proposals. - Able to discuss (within own area of expertise) requirements with a customer, and to challenge and clarify when appropriate. From the requirements: able to develop a high level design or plan, and then estimate the amount of effort required to deliver. Able to advise the engagement owner about the risks associated with this work package. - Ability to work with a team to provide written responses to technical proposals and/or reports documentation for delivery. - Must be able to work some nights and weekends and function in an on-call role on a rotational basis. - Strong technical competencies - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and contribute independently with minimal supervision Must haves: - Ability to administer Linux Infrastructure - Strong knowledge on troubleshooting skills of Linux/UNIX - Strong knowledge on Linux/UNIX management tools - Knowledge on Remote system administration - Troubleshooting the incidents & problems reported on the servers - Provide the root cause analysis on the major incidents/problems - To carry out the scheduled activities like Daily Checklists, Server reboot, etc. - Monitoring of logs and alerts - Patch management and Antivirus management - H/W Troubleshooting & Vendor coordination - Firmware & BIOS Upgrade - Understanding of capacity planning, performance monitoring & tuning - Should have scripting knowledge for scripted installs, comfortable with using Virtual Center. - Strong knowledge on Storage & Networking concepts - Contribute to internal knowledge management system - Experience with VMware is preferred - Experience with CI/CD tools and Automations tools such as Ansible is preferred - Experience with Solaris will be a plus - Experience with PaaS and IaaS will be a plus - Knowledge on any monitoring tools like HP Server Automation (HPSA), New Relic, Site Scope, HP BMC will be a plus - PowerShell/PowerCLI Scripting will be a plus
