PETADATA is looking for: MAINFRAMES CICS ADMIN to work with one of our Clients

LOCATION: Baltimore, MD

Required Skill: 

1) SMPE – Knowledge to install IBM vendor products on Z/OS Mainframe using SMPE.

2) Knowledge of CICS installation, configuration and maintenance, including CICS regions, JCL and Resource Definition Online.

3) Knowledge of Assembler or Cobol programming languages

4) CICS Transaction Gateway (CTG) and WebSphere – a major plus

5) Installing and supporting

  1. CICS Abend-AID/FX
  2. CICS Plex Systems Manager

Roles & Responsibilities:

 

  • 10+ Years of Experience in Design, develop, test, maintain, document, and deploy CICS systems-level and application software features and changes.

 

  • 8+ Years of experience in Create New or Modify Existing CICS Architectures and Create new or modify existing CICS regions in support of new CLIENT applications or CICS architecture re-engineering initiatives.
  • Provide problem resolution that includes the diagnosis and root cause analysis of CICS application software problems, CICS configuration, or CICS software related problems.
  • Meet with CLIENT analysts, management, and end-users to develop requirements.
  • Analyze high-level requirements and produce detailed design documents and flow charts.
  • Provide a project plan and schedule on software development and maintenance efforts, as mutually determined by the CLIENT Task Manager and contractor.  
  • 8+ Years of Develop comprehensive test plans to ensure validation of functional requirements and proper integration testing.
  • Test systems programs in the PRSM/Development environment.
  • Develop and maintain CICS systems-level and application software programs and exits using Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL), Assembler Language Code (ALC), or Java.
  • Perform life cycle management and coordination of software changes across the CLIENT Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Deploy completed software into the life cycle using CLIENT change management procedures furnished by the Task Manager.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on CICS systems and application software programs.
  • Submit region configurations and all associated JCL and RDO changes, via the “4611” process, on the lifecycle processing to Task Manager.
  • Develop all application release-related documentation after a production release. Develop a CICS configuration document.
  • Provide problem resolution that includes the diagnosis and root cause analysis of CICS application software problems, CICS configuration, or CICS software related problems.
  • Develop and implement capabilities to monitor the CICS production environment for problems and generate automated alerts.
  • Provide 24x7 pager support to resolve CICS related problems when they occur.  
  • Provide technical expertise on CICS application and configuration related issues.
  • Troubleshoot CICS systems, configuration and application problems, and facilitate the necessary actions required to correct the problem.
  • Communicate with designated CLIENT personnel on conference calls and emails concerning the details of the issue, expected resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Support efforts to restore processing during a “disaster recovery exercise” or an actual disaster at either the SSC or NCC.
  • In troubleshooting problems, communicate the details of the issue, expected resolution, and status of the root cause analysis.
  • Document the problem resolutions, which shall include the complete root cause analysis in the CLIENT’s problem tracking system- the Change Asset Problem Reporting System (CAPRS).
