This position sets strategy, plans, directs, oversees, and coordinates all activities surrounding IT Infrastructure. Manages all IT personnel responsible for the above, providing day-to-day oversight of their daily work, hands on support, detailed technical guidance, and administrative guidance as appropriate. Develops, maintains, and oversees a process to analyze, evaluate, recommend, and implement upgrades/tools/systems/technology to support current and future business needs, following a cohesive strategy. Oversees and participates in the resolution of configuration, performance, capacity, and other system related issues. Understands and assures compliance with all licensing agreements and other contractual obligations. Knowledgeable in all tools and technology related to the above, with the ability to perform "hands-on" activities to support these items and/or quickly to learn and utilize new skills related to the above.
? Responsible for managing all aspects of and personnel supporting IT Infrastructure, which includes: o Server (hardware, operating systems, hypervisors, as well as software which is IT centric [e.g. backups, monitoring tools, etc.], Microsoft server based products, Phone systems, Web Servers, and non-enterprise scale business applications) o Network (IT security, network communications, networking related hardware, external facing applications, and any hardware, appliances, or software (including clients and servers) which supports the former) o Telecommunications (hardware, software, networking, and third-party providers.) o Technology Support (workstations/laptops, peripherals, telecommunication systems, operating systems, and software) o Database (software, data, and interfaces) o Physical Environment (Server rooms, DR sites, etc.) o IT Security (Cyber Security, authentication, etc.) ? Manages IT Infrastructure through its lifecycle, working with direct reports, other members of IT, users, and third parties as appropriate to: o Manages and monitors the day-to-day operations of all aspects of the IT Infrastructure, directing the associated personnel to, implement, maintain, and administer appropriate tools to effectively and efficiently perform this task o Recommend strategy for and oversee the successful acquisition and implementation of new services, technology, or tools related to IT Infrastructure o Plan, execute, and lead projects to upgrade existing IT Infrastructure to maintain vendor support o Identify and anticipate IT and business needs and assess, compare, and recommend, and implement new IT Infrastructure and/or enhancements to existing IT Infrastructure to address these needs o Lead efforts to implement, maintain, enhance, and configure IT Infrastructure to meet manufacturer requirements and best practice based on published authoritative guidance
and/or business needs o Design, implement, and maintain monitoring tools for IT Infrastructure, including security and performance o Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to performance o Monitor and ensure compliance with licensing and other contractual obligations o Define, design, and implement requirements related to the IT stack supporting IT Infrastructure (e.g. OS settings, DB settings, Application Settings, back-ups, authentication, etc.), based on manufacturer published authoritative guidance and/or company policy. Works with other IT team members to implement and monitor requirements. o Provide on-call 24/7 incident management support related IT Infrastructure supporting the production environment, directing workflow and escalating issues where appropriate ? Defines the strategy for, execution of, and adherence to policies and working practices for the following functions; o Patching (both software and firmware) of IT Infrastructure o Testing backup and recovery / business continuity for the IT Infrastructure, as well as applications and databases o Controls to ensure IT Infrastructure integrity. Including establishing, implementing, monitoring, and enforcing baseline settings and software. o Enforces IT security and policy compliance across all aspects of IT Infrastructure and end user applications. o Administering IT infrastructure components for multi-tier applications, database, and tools ? Recommends and creates formal proposals related to IT strategy, projects, and budget submissions. ? Sets, assesses, oversees and manages project goals, outcomes, requirements, timelines, tasks, resources needs, estimate effort, and cost to complete for IT Infrastructure related projects. ? Ability to initiate, maintain, and manage intercompany and third party relationships. ? Provides guidance to and assists other IT Team Members, End Users, and Third Parties related to the above. ? Supports Company and department initiatives, working closely with other IT team members and/or end users to support their project, implementation, upgrade, patching, daily work, and troubleshooting efforts. ? Self-identifies knowledge/skill gaps and required training needs for current and future products. Proposes and executes plan to close-gaps using a combination of the self-study/research, industry conferences, and formal training. ? Drafts, recommends enhancements to, implements, monitors, and adheres to department and company policies, controls, and working practices. Considers policy, security, and risk management impact when performing assigned duties ? Provide hands-on technical tasks related to the above. ? Perform any and all other appropriate functions as required.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, with a minimum ten year's experience in Infrastructure support, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Masters' degree preferred. Three or more years of leadership responsibilities, including strategy, budgeting and staffing. Mastery of IT virtualization, networking, operating system, shared storage, telecommunications, database, IT security, and backup/disaster recovery concepts. Knowledgeable in a combination of Linux, Windows server, Active Directory, Microsoft System Center, VMWare, Oracle Virtual Machines, Oracle Engineered Systems, Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Database, Checkpoint Firewall, Fortinet Firewall, Microsoft Exchange, QRadar, Nessus Scanner, Mitel Phone System.
? Demonstrated experience designing and implementing all aspects of IT Infrastructure ? Demonstrated experience leading a team of individuals with varying job titles, skills sets, education, and experience ? Outstanding organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize multiple assignments ? Capable of working independently, multi-tasking, and assuming responsibility for deliverables as well as collaboratively within a team environment. ? Performed complex research, problem solving, and analysis, resolving critical problems ? Defined IT strategy and policy, including developing a roadmap for IT Infrastructure ? Presented timely updates to management through appropriate channels, including memorandums and operations meetings. ? Ensure the security, availability, and integrity IT Infrastructure across all aspects of the IT stack, including adhering to established access and change control processes that support Sarbanes Oxley regulations. ? Planned, recommended, and justified annual Capital and O&M budgets for this function and met financial targets ? Planned, recommended, drafted, and complied with department and company policies ? Reviewed, drafted, and assessed product/project requirements, product feature/cost comparisons, requests for proposals, project plans, statements of work, and licensing agreements ? Dedicated weekly time to learning new skills necessary for self-development ? Proven ability to provide guidance to less experienced staff ? Proven experience managing compliance with software licensing and contract terms ? Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication with senior managers, supervisors, other personnel in systems and user departments, technical consultants, software vendors and technical support personnel from other company locations and outside companies. Able to tailor communications to both a technical and business oriented level
The ability to manipulate a keyboard and mouse is necessary for on-line communications, problem analysis, etc. Speaking, writing, and reading are necessary to provide monthly reports, user documentation, training, technical support, and problem diagnosis. Visual acuity is required for analyzing data and figures. Advanced thought processes and learning abilities required to permit the development of plans and courses of action from complex alternatives.
Basically light work consisting of exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
