Job Description

Sirius Computer Solutions is seeking a talented Sr. level Cloud DevOps Architect to join our growing Digital consulting team. This role will require regular travel as needed to client sites,  can be a remote/work from home role when not at client locations, and can be based from most US cities. 

The Managing Consultant plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects and associated personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure that client service delivery is effectively managed on all dimensions: budget, timeline, quality, deliverables/outcomes, teaming/collaboration and updates/communication with a high degree of client satisfaction. Teams with other consulting and sales colleagues to develop a “trusted advisor” relationship with clients with the specific objective of achieving further penetration into accounts and attaining meaningful follow-on sales.

This role manages service delivery and website/systems reliability and scalability including: reporting, configurationand build, testing, planning, and deployment of solutions. The Cloud DevOps Architect will be accountable for all aspects of deployment and technical operations including technical project resources(partners/subcontractors or staff), scheduling, risk management, internal and external communications, status reporting, and resource management (internal and partners).  This person will coordinate between a variety ovendors and technical experts.

 

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
  • At least eight (8) years related work experience in a DevOps focused role, to include experience with complex projects in enterprise environments

Other Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience building and maintaining production systems on Cloud environments using available technologies and familiarity with Cloud APIs.
  • Experience with monitoring, metrics, and visualization tools for networks, servers and web applications, such as CloudWatch, DataDog, Nagios, etc.
  • Experience with container technologies, such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Rancher
  • Comfortable working with a variety of open source projects
  • Experience with hardware and software firewalls, IPS, WAF, and additional security layers (LDAP, SSO, 2Factor).
  • Experience with continuous integration, testing, delivery, and deployment
  • Experience with RDBMS MySQL and Amazon/Google/Azure SQL tools
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding in the areas of web application programming, content management systems, APIs, databases, and system design
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of the intersection of development and operations (DevOps), monitoring and management tools, and deployment processes and tools
  • Proven ability to quickly identify and drive to the optimal solution when presented with a series of constraints
  • Demonstrated understanding of software release process and management
  • Demonstrated proficiency in high level script languages as well as script environments
  • Experience administering Linux and Windows systems
  • Proven understanding of configuration management concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a wide variety of client and Sirius team members, including management and technical staff
  • Demonstrated ability to understand a client’s requirements and present appropriate architectural options
  • Demonstrated ability to provide guidance and leadership to less experienced technical team members, including delegating technical tasks, and resolving issues of poor technical execution without escalation
  • Demonstrated ability to architect large projects from pre-sales Discovery to Solution Outline
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills, including effectively communicating one-on-one, and in small and large groups, using a variety of presentation methods to sustain the audiences’ engagement
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple concurrent projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships and conduct complex and important work critical to the organization in a team consulting environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Consulting experience, especially in an agency or global systems integrator environment
  • Certifications in relevant areas of specialty
