Our client is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer
We are looking for a manufacturing engineer with experience in an industrial environment. Ideally, this individual will have experience in cable assembly, intricate soldering operations, harness assembly, and/or turnkey build-to-print integrated system solutions (including wiring relays, connectors and other electrical components). Experience with Six-sigma manufacturing practices is preferable. Key Responsibilities:
Resolve production issues by determining the cause of manufacturing defects or failures and making recommendation to correct and permanently resolve the problems.
Lead projects for the ISG Value Add Production Team in resolution of customer complaints, scrap reductions, efficiency problems, rate improvements, process deviations, Sample Runs, and cost reduction projects.
Participate in Product and Equipment design reviews for purpose of developing a robust product and manufacturing process - review and suggest design, process, or equipment changes.
Initiate and manage capital equipment projects; specifying and implementing new manufacturing equipment/techniques.
Scale-up new product for manufacturing and provide detailed work instructions.
Provide leadership and direction to individuals and multi-functional teams in identifying, planning, and implementing Six-Sigma initiatives.
Identify and implement key Six-Sigma metrics, estimating financial impact of projects, providing follow-up, updates, and reports to management.
Provide basic Six-Sigma guidance in support of planned events, such as Kaizen.
Able to maintain strong attention to detail, while working in a fast paced environment (working with a sense of urgency), as well as the ability to handle multiple responsibilities and react quickly to changing priorities with flexibility and willingness, as required, is a must.Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
8-10 years of experience in an industrial environment involving cable assembly, intricate soldering operations, harness assembly, and/or integrated system assembly.
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and encourage cultural change.
Must have hands-on experience with continuous improvement techniques in Lean and Six Sigma.
Must also have a proven record of achieving cost savings and measurable operational improvements.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is a plus.
Some travel may be required.
