Please note that this is a 6 months contract position.
Shift: 4:15AM-5:15PM Thurs.-Sat. and alternating Wednesdays
Primary responsibility is testing of DNA samples including qPCR testing and other analytical methods. Samples will include routine production samples as well as development and R&D samples. The role requires use of multiple instruments many of which are controlled by a computer interface. Delicate handling and transfer of small samples is required including pipetting small volumes. The role will require conducting tests, experiments and/or problem resolution associated with products or processes/systems.
Must be able to follow techniques and process procedures in operating equipment in a quality control lab. Must be able to work with production personnel and scientists and follow directions and communicate well. Must be organized and detailed oriented to coordinate testing and ensure accurate processing and results.
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience or associate or higher degree for entry to this level.
Ability to run analytic instruments
Sufficient dexterity and physical capabilities to manually pipet accurately in small volumes using pipets and small tubes
Must be able work in a quality lab using appropriate personal protective equipment including latex gloves.
Basic computer skills -- Excel, Word and general interface with computers.
Experience with qPCR testing
Experience with pipetting in very small volumes
Advanced computer skills and demonstrated use of a computer interface to run equipment or instruments.
