Job Description

The thing that tends to tie all these positions together is a significant amount of consulting experience.

This is quite important as people don’t tend to adapt well to the flexibility needed to work with clients without it.

They also of course, show a good deal of domain knowledge in their respective spaces.

Experience with Big 4 (or medium-sized consulting firms like Slalom, Point B, Revel, Decision Data, etc.) and consulting sales and large program delivery is key.

The salary ranges are here. Can’t guarantee these, just best guess.

  • Chief Data Scientist is likely $190 to $250K. Up to $40K performance bonus. There may be an additional annual bonus of approx. $10K.
  • Practice Directors are likely $170 to $240K. $40K performance bonus. There may be an additional annual bonus of approx. $10K.
  • Delivery Leads are likely $150 to $220K. There is an annual bonus of approx. $10K. They can also earn bonuses through participation in our Merit Program. Usually ranges somewhere between $0 to $5K per quarter.
  • The Performance Bonuses mentioned above are made up of: quarterly achievement of SMART goals the leader jointly sets with our consulting client, measurement of headcount/revenue growth in the practice, and awards for consulting sales where the leader makes a meaningful contribution regardless of which practice is involved.

Here are some bullets / facts, you should know!

  • Our consulting client is both investing heavily and growing strongly in the data analytics space. They have a goal of becoming the top data analytics management consulting firm on the West Coast (currently focused on Seattle and the Bay Area). About a third of the 350 consultants in the company are currently in data analytics and this share is growing.
  • The company has grown 40% per year for over 6 years and is continuing that trend with 50% revenue growth since a year ago. We have 24 different clients in Seattle and rapidly adding them in the Bay Area.
  • The company is investing in being the top data consulting firm by putting the rest of the company through a program called Insights University where non-data roles like program managers, change managers, and product managers learn the basics of analytics concepts/use cases, hands on practice with SQL, Tableau, and Power BI, learn basics of data science, and go through a business simulation where teams apply analytics to solve business challenges.
  • The company is aggressively hiring for these analytics leadership roles right now and is poised for even more growth, so this is a good time to join.
  • The company has created a Pacific Northwest Data Analytics Leadership Board and has members from over 12 companies, most of them the top Fortune 500 companies in Seattle like Amazon, Starbucks, T-Mobile, Microsoft, and many others. The Board was created to help executives share trends and best practices while also creating great connections in the business community for our consulting client and yielding opportunities.
