The Marketing Application Scientist applies deep technical expertise in emerging clinical research applications of protein, metabolite, and lipid analysis using mass spectrometry. This expertise and resulting application material will be used by company’s sales and marketing organizations to raise awareness and effectively drive sales of analytical instruments, consumables, and services in the clinical research and diagnostic market. Technical expertise in mass spectrometric hardware, software, and protein quantitation and metabolomic workflows will also be applied to the development of new products and solutions which address the needs of customers in this market.
She/he understands customers’ businesses, needs and problems, manages collaborations with customers and R&D to develop new products, workflows, solutions, and applications. She/he integrates company and third party products at the applications level, so they can fit into the customer’s environment. She/he performs competitive benchmarking and monitors industry trends with respect to MS applications in clinical diagnostics. She/he supports collaborators with application development, provides consultation on use of company’s products (stand-alone and within systems), and independently performs MS application development work as needed to supplement and support work from collaborators.
She/he write papers and customer-facing application notes and technical documents, and selectively delivers presentations to support VIP visits, new product introductions, and relevant tradeshows, conferences, and webinars. She/he provides technical and marketing expertise to the rest of the company in developing and testing new products and applications, as well as providing technical sales training with respect to MS in clinical research and diagnostics. She/he understands and operates within the legal and regulatory requirements for clinical research and diagnostics, and can provide internal guidance to others for how company can market our sell our MS products, consumables and services in the clinical research and diagnostic market.
As an expert in the clinical research and diagnostic market segment, the Marketing Application Scientist for clinical multiomics:
Reduces broad concepts and business strategies into structured marketing applications projects to support preference building and lead generation in the MS clinical diagnostic market segment.
Is an expert in MS proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics workflows, including manual and automated sample preparation, analysis, and data analysis using company's software.
Supports the design and final delivery of new product marketing programs and projects, where she/he is the key contributor for content and application collateral development in collaboration with product line marketing, as well as marketing communication.
Solves complex, high impact program/process design/application development problems in order to drive the implementation of the global clinical diagnostic marketing programs via the SU, segment and field Marketing Program Managers (MPM).
Develops, maintains and delivers application and sales training & sales tools for all relevant direct and indirect sales channels that effectively position company’s MS products for the clinical diagnostic market and clearly differentiates company’s solutions from comparable offerings from its competitors.
Represents company in selected customer facing events, seminar tours, trade-shows, web-based sessions, in-house events and other activities in the field.
Is viewed internally and by customers as a technical, marketing and customer-oriented leader in the area of MS in clinical multiomics.
