Mechanical Engineer The Challenge: Are you a mechanical engineer who's eager to work on critical national security projects? We're looking for an experienced engineer to support the Air Force Nuclear Weapon Center with nuclear sustainment and acquisitions programs and systems. This is your opportunity to use emerging technologies to help modernize the nuclear weapons program. You'll apply your mechanical expertise to develop and review nuclear certification packages for tactical and strategic weapons systems and strategic missile systems. You'll review and conduct nuclear surety policy tasks and coordinate technical support efforts to ensure the relevance of the U.S. nuclear program--and the safety of every person it protects.

You Have: -Experience with tactical or strategic nuclear weapons systems and interfaces-Experience with program management or nuclear certification-Experience with DoD and Air Force nuclear certification governance, including DoD 3150.02 and AFI 63-125-Experience with project management in a DoD or DoE environment-Experience with supporting nuclear weapons or environments-Ability to work independently and in a team environment-Secret clearance-BA or BS degree
Nice If You Have: -5+ years of experience with nuclear weapons systems and associated delivery platforms-Experience with strategic missile systems and associated nuclear surety directives, as applied to certification-Experience with business process analysis and development-Experience with military protocol, tactics, techniques, and procedures and current concepts of operations-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills-Possession of excellent organizational, time management analytical and problem-solving skills-TS/SCI clearance preferred-BS degree in ME preferred; MS degree in ME a plus
