Job Description

KIHOMAC is expanding its Maryland operations and is seeking entry, mid and senior-level Electrical Engineers. Candidates should have hands on and experience with aircraft system test, maintenance and diagnostics equipment. Successful candidates will be independent self-starters with interest and experience in development and application of test and measurement equipment supporting hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, control, pressure, thermal, power generation and transmission and other related systems. The position supports work on programs and projects in our Space & Electronics Group and other divisions. Programs supported include flight, weapon and other aircraft system programs, support equipment, sustainment engineering and re-engineering, and development of test and calibration systems and procedures. We are seeking experienced engineers.

Incumbents will engage in a broad range of engineering work including concept development, design, specification, integration, test, calibration and technical documentation. Work includes modeling and simulation of structural/mechanical components, assemblies, system performance and possible finite element analysis. Work requires hands on experience with mechanical design and analysis tools and a broad range of test and measuring equipment such as load cells, deadweight testers, environmental chambers, thermocouples, engine test cells, flow meters, manometers, pressure intensifiers, torque testers, and heat transfer devices. Responsibilities include developing proto-types, conducting internal research and development and providing support on technical solutions and proposals. Successful candidates will work directly with customer and in-house engineering teams.

  • Education/Training:
    • BS degree in aerospace, aeronautical, industrial, or mechanical engineering required
    • A Master's Degree in Engineering may substitute for 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of 3 years' experience for mid-level positions or minimum of 10 years' experience for senior level positions
    • Operation and application of dynamic physical test and measurement equipment
    • Mechanical system design, development, analysis, integration, test and documentation
    • Participation on multidisciplinary teams
    • Leadership and mentoring
    • Working in customer environments
  • Security:
    • Must be a ====
    • Presently holding or ability to obtain a security clearance is required
Expertise and Functions
  • Mechanical system development
  • Test and measurement systems
  • CAD modeling, mechanical simulation, damage tolerancing, fatigue analysis, and load analysis
  • Thermal analysis, vibration analysis, system analysis and performance specification validation
  • Preliminary and critical designs and presentation materials
  • Proto-typing and evaluation of system concepts and designs
  • Technical procedure, proposal and report writing
  • Research and development
  • Other duties as assigned
