Acumen Solutions is currently hiring MuleSoft Architects to join our team in the McLean, VA location.  We are open to all locations as this can be a remote positions, with some travel.

As a MuleSoft Architect, you will assess, define, and implement process and service architectures for clients across a variety of industries and project scales - tactical and critical projects, to large-scale, strategic enterprise programs.

You will provide technical feedback and possible changes based on experience and knowledge, and respond to potential changing customer needs alongside a project team.  You will build, orchestrate, and deploy complex integration architectures, as well as defining system, process, and experience layers. You will document and assist in implementing MuleSoft based architectures within on-premise and CloudHub environments following best practices.  You will act as a technical lead, directing and mentoring team and client resources also responsible for building and maintaining environment and integration components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of the development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, transition, and support

  • Apply API-led connectivity concepts to business initiatives to help organizations achieve their goals

  • Follow good practices and project guidelines in all cases including the use of source code control, automated testing and deployment approaches, and proper documentation practices

  • Perform and/or participate in requirements discovery and design work sessions to determine best practice solution requirements

Skill and Experience Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on-experience architecting, leading, and delivering solutions related to enterprise integration, APIs, service-oriented architecture

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with MuleSoft ESB, CloudHub, and API Management

  • Strong understanding of underlying Mule ESB architecture with experience of server administration and physical deployment (On Cloud, On Premise and Hybrid).

  • Understanding of architectural concepts for MuleSoft implementations including encryption, security, logging, scalability, clustering, and securing solutions

  • Ability to design and develop MuleSoft APIs, writing complementary RAML, and formally document architecture and design specifications

  • Experience with a breadth of MuleSoft inbound/outbound connectors, for example: Web Services, File, Database, Salesforce, JMS, AWS services, etc.

  • Experience orchestrating complex use cases involving multiple systems, incorporating error handling and logging

  • Strong knowledge of EAI/SOA best practices, development methodologies & standards
    Strong experience in Application Development using Mule ESB and SOA/EAI technologies and API management, MuleSoft - ESB Enterprise Edition, CloudHub

  • Demonstrable understanding of Web Services (SOAP & REST), XML and JSON formats document schemas, HTTP protocol, and underlying internetworking concepts

  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment using Maven, Jenkins, Subversion, Git, and/or comparable toolsets

  • Experience with Java/JEE programming/development

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues and defects

  • One or both MuleSoft Architect Certifications:

    • MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect - Level 1

    • MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect - Level 1

  • One or more Mulesoft designer/developer certification(s) are preferred:

    • MuleSoft Certified Developer (Mule 4)

    • MuleSoft Certified Developer - Integration and API Associate (Mule 3)

    • MuleSoft Certified Developer - API Design Associate (RAML 1.0)

    • MuleSoft Certified Developer - Integration Professional (Mule 3)

  • Experience operating in a Center of Excellence and/or MuleSoft C4E environment preferred
