Senior Support Engineer System Administrator

We are looking for a multi-talented and dynamic Senior Support Engineer or Senior System Administrator, to join our Managed Service Department, to provide remote technical support to our clients networks and systems.

The candidate must have outstanding customer service skills, the ability to effectively communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to multitask.


Minimum Qualifications

5 years minimum Administration or Engineering experience
One of the following Certifications desired but not required -- MCP, MCSE, MCSA, MCITP
Experience with Microsoft --based platforms critical:
Microsoft Server 2008/2008R2/2012R2/2016
Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010/2013/2016
Windows Win7/Win8.1/Win10
Familiar with Office365 installation and support
Familiar with Virtualization using the Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware platforms
Familiar Microsoft Active Directory
Familiar Microsoft Outlook
Working familiarity with the following software: Trend Micro, Symantec and McAfee, Anti-Virus and Malware applications
Must be proficient in malware and virus removal
Experience with Symantec Backup software version 11 and newer
Helpful, but not required - Familiar with Routing, Switching, Firewalls and VPN's (Cisco, SonicWall)
Excellent customer & communication skills, rapid response, and decision-making capabilities are required

Job Responsibilities
Respond to support requests in a timely and professional manner. Communicate with clients and/or internal staff to report, escalate and resolve system related or network issues
Service client networks and networking equipment remotely from our office
Track and document work tasks and issues daily in the ticket system (ConnectWise)
Administer Windows Servers and Exchange with an excellent understanding of Active Directory
Configure, troubleshoot and recover Microsoft Server 2008R2/2012/2012R2/2016 operating Systems
Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware Host loads, recovery and management
Manage cluster solutions for failover and high availability using Microsoft Hyper-V or VMware
Guest server troubleshooting, configuration and management
Troubleshoot server application software loads
Troubleshoot server hardware, software, and networking and routing problems impacting clients
Comfortable with multi server environments in LAN and WAN configurations using DFS
Manage client servers, including maintaining current status of software, applying security hot fixes and system patches.
Solve both local and network printing problems
Troubleshoot, configure and recover servers running Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010/2013/2016
Troubleshoot Email server send and receive issues along with client email issues
Support and resolve email related issues
DNS record modifications and additions
Migrate clients to an Office365 from an on premise Exchange server using cutover, staged, or hybrid migration methods
Troubleshoot and resolve NTFS permissions and GPO related issues
Knowledge of TCP/IP Networking, DHCP, DNS and routing
Remotely install, troubleshoot and configure software, MS Office, Anti-virus and client LOB applications
General client PC and Server maintenance tasks
Troubleshoot Windows 7 and 8.1 operating systems, applications and networking functions
Support of handheld devices iPhone and or Android
Installation and troubleshooting of Backup Exec software
Configure, manage and troubleshoot data backup s devices and appliances
Installation, configuration and management of Symantec SEP antivirus software
Knowledgeable in the use and management of Spyware/Malware removal using Malware bytes
Experienced with the removal of Viruses, Malware and Spyware
Manage, modify and troubleshoot HP / Cisco / Dell switch configurations and VLANs
Configure and maintain Cisco routers and firewalls
Troubleshoot, configure and support site to site and client to site VPN
Troubleshoot site and client wireless connectivity issues
Setup, manage and troubleshoot Site-to-site and client-to-site VPN issues
Troubleshoot routing and switching issues
