Job Description

Full-Time Network Administrator

Reports To: Director of IT


Lower Manhattan/Flushing Queens
New York
United States

Responsibilities:

  • Manage network infrastructure maintenance and network security
  • Monitor network system performance and network stability
  • Ensure proper functioning of the network
  • Design and organize network infrastructure
  • Assign routing protocols and router/switch configurations
  • Monitor network performance
  • Analyze network traffic to fine tune firewall and configurations
  • Responsible for network security
  • Evaluate networking hardware lifecycle
  • Manage relationship with ISP/external networking vendor
  • Manage networking hardware inventory and documentation
  • Support for domain client/server maintenance, enterprise systems planning/rollouts and disaster recovery planning
  • Occasional travel to Chinatown and Flushing sites to provide support is required
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields required
  • Strong technical aptitude in the following areas and technologies: OSI or TCP/IP model
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Cisco, Barracuda and Dell (including SonicWall) as well as network technologies including, but not limited to routing, switching, wireless and VoIP
  • Dynamic routing and switching such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc.
  • Design, implement and troubleshoot LAN, WAN and WLAN infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of security concepts
  •  Experience with analysis and monitoring tools such as WireShark, LanSweeper, PRTG, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
