Job Profile Summary

 

Under the supervision of the Network & Data Center Facilities Manager, Technical Services Section, the primary responsibilities of this position are network design, installation, support, monitoring, testing, and troubleshooting all hardware and software pertaining to the Network.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall design, operation, and health of the network.
  • Configures and troubleshoots all network hardware including core, edge, and border: data center, user stacks, business partner connections and Internet utilizing a variety of tools including Cisco Prime, Solar Winds, and protocol analyzers.
  • Performs network assessments and recommends upgrades and changes to the network based on current and future requirements to ensure appropriate design, performance, capacity, reliability, and resiliency.
  • Modifies network design and configuration (with management approval) to ensure IT Security compliance, standards compliance, support of business requirements.
  • Provides on-call rotation coverage for all networking issues across 31 sites in Metro Area Network.
  • Provides off-hour implementations and upgrades as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required or requested.

 

Qualifications

  • Network services including IP, routing protocols, router configuration, LAN Switching (layers 2 and 3), VLANs, Access Points, BGP, IGP, ACLs QoS, and wireless
  • 5+ years of networking experience
