Updike Distribution Logistics (UDL) is currently looking for an experienced Network Administrator II to work out of our corporate office located at 59th Avenue and Buckeye. This position is a "roll up your sleeves" type of position and there is no typical day in a day at UDL. The ideal person will be comfortable with changing priorities, on call hours to support a 24/7 warehousing and transportation operation, leading and developing a Help Desk Technician II, traveling to other states on occasion, and have a passion for customer service, and helping our company grow.
Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:
An information technology network practitioner with 5 to 7 years’ experience in the network administration discipline within a Cisco environment.
Essential Job Functions:
Candidate will be responsible for WAN/LAN, routing, switching, wireless access points, network security, documentation pertaining to day to day configuration, monitoring, and support in an SD-WAN environment primarily using Cisco equipment.
Monitoring and support includes Meraki, Firepower ASA/Firewall, Cisco AnyConnect VPN, maintaining ACL’s, Cisco Catalyst while applying WiFi and IEEE standards.
Provide network status reports as requested
Provide recommendations for improving network security, reliability, and speed.
Candidate should have experience that matches the level of a CCNA or working towards certification.
Candidate will be responsible for project management of assigned projects and/or new locations.
Willingness to travel (25%)
Experience with Cisco Routers, ASA Appliances, Switches, Meraki, Wireless Access Points, Network Security, Cisco AnyConnect VPN, Cisco Catalyst in an SD-WAN environment
Experience with network technologies/protocols including TCP/IP, Routing, SMTP, iSCSI, IEEE, WiFi standards, and VLAN Tagging
Experience with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, and Office.
Ability to lift 30 lbs
Ability to travel locally and out of state as needed
Ability to work alone and/or as part of a group
Strong problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:
Experience working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment highly preferred
Cisco Hyperflex / UCS
Experience with network cabling and testing
Windows servers, domain controllers, Linux, GPO’s, WSUS
VMware, Veeam, vSphere HA
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and office equipment. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is frequently required to lift, move and inspect computer terminals, printers and related equipment. The employee will often be sitting for prolonged periods of time at a computer screen.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in an open cubicle and/or normal office environment. Works in office conditions but may be required to visit other department locations with data processing and related communication equipment. Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
